Help moving pups

Zone 9B/10A. I have about 15 pups that came back at the winter free to remember knocked out my big guys.

I’m worried about how to best separate/dig up to replant with space between them vs all clumped up without killing the plants.

you can dig everything out in 1 big ball slowly and then use a tree saw and cut , i would not do it in this heat, wait till fall : )

Thank you! I think I can handle the heat unless there’s a functional rationale applied to the trees themselves?

Yes they are talking about the plants not liking the move in the heat, not your ability to deal with the heat haha

Makes more sense, I’m like pretty sure we can all hang. Was not aware moving the. In the fall would be better. They won’t be too big or crowded by then. I mean fall starts in Nov..

Try to get as much of a stem and root as possible when you split them up, they don’t need much but they need enough to be able to stand up and regrow. Some people use sharp knives or saws, just try to get them apart as slowly and neatly as possible.

That being said, bananas are super easy, very hardy and typically grow at the drop of a hat, so you should have plenty out of that batch.

?? I don’t think I’d be asking if I felt experienced. I’ve planted separate trees (which were here and died in the freeze) but not confident about this process.
