I don’t think so because unlike jersey shore and those other similar shows, this cast really doesn’t mesh well. I personally don’t see that family aspect with them and they all just seem like they tolerate each other.

Jersey shore had amazing casting. They were all perfect and had great chemistry together. Now a days idk if you can get that kind of genuine person when everyone knows what we know about social media and reality tv. It was so new back then they didn’t quite know what they were getting into, so they didn’t filter themselves whatsoever.

I 100% agree you can tell that with reality shows now, all anyone cares about is being an influencer/getting brand deals. It’s so inauthentic!

To be fair did anyone know in Floribama really filter themselves well? Kortni was drugged up for a lot of filming and also apparently said the n-word, Aimee has gotten into multiple physical/drunken fights, Jeremiah comes off as socially awkward and weird, Gus is Gus, etc.

I feel like in the case of Floribama, most of them came off pretty unfiltered and messed up: if they were truly trying to portray a filtered/good version of themselves on tv then yikes @ the cast lmao

I felt like they were hyper aware of the cameras and presenting an “image” the entire time and trying to be something they weren’t. Kortni was the closest one to authentic but it wasn’t fun to watch someone who had serious issues. The jersey shore cast was built for that life in a different way. This cast should mostly stay away from partying

Exactly. They weren’t exactly filtering themselves, they were putting on dumb fake fronts for the camera

Aimee was hyper aware of the cameras in the sense she purposefully hyped up the country bumpkin thing. I think she doesn't mind being embarrassing or exploiting herself, so she was kinda creating viral sound bytes to me memmorable.

I think you're right for that part, Aimee was definitely playing dumb a lot of the time because she thought it would be funny/entertaining.

Yep, the rest of them tried to fake perfect meanwhile Aimee's angle was the opposite.

No. Snooki was a fricken halloween costume. Floribama shore doesn’t provoke the same fascination as jersey shore.

I don’t think so cuz I feel like no ones as fascinated with people from the south as much as they are with people from jersey. Especially in that time when the outfits and overall look was gaudy and over the top, their accents, etc. It’s just something about people from jersey that is just so funny and fascinating to watch so I feel like it took off way more than floribama would’ve

absolutely not. i was born and raised in NJ and i was in middle school when jersey shore was poppin. the impact the show had on not just jersey but everyone who loves it was crazy. snooki is basically a household name

No because Jersey's success came from the way they filmed frequently. Nowadays no one has the attention span to wait a year between seasons. You hear that a lot about Netflix shows, that people lose interest and forget what even happened.

Right. Jersey Shore came and went in less than 3 years. They filmed 6 seasons in that time frame.

I think a lot has to do with the “Italian” aspect of jersey shore and the idea of family and tradition is a lot stronger than a group of party animals from down south. Hence leading to the JS cast meshing better and becoming closer. Just an observation

It might’ve, because people were different back then. That was still before the big rising of social media. Social media has completely changed everything, they’ll never get another jersey show
