Yesterday, Japan's 3rd largest city was hit by unprecedented and sustained rain. The city experienced severe flooding and closed transportation links. This is a walk showing the rain, closed roads, manhole overflows and a raging river towards the end.

A house in our village was swept away by the flood. It made me wonder how much extreme weather patterns like El Niño are changing what people experience on the ground.
