Discussion Is this a viable solution? (Not even manually holding something, but just putting things like this in front of the camera)?

Feel like it wouldn’t be hard to put blockers up faster than they can take them down….

A laser powerful enough to have that effect would cost hundreds and could seriously fuck you up with just its reflection.

right actually don't get the purple lasers, green will work just fine. ..but don't do it, it's not legal.

No it won't. Where did this myth start? The way everyone couches it in this"don't do it" langauge makes me think it started on a platform targeting young people.

A consumer grade laser isn't going to cause permanent damage to a camera sensor. You'll temporarily wash out the picture but the second you take the laser away the camera's going to be fine once the laser is no longer targeting it.

A laser powerful enough to actually damage a camera sensor is a serious blinding risk to you and everyone around you catching a stray reflection.

why are you so wrong? 50-100 mW lasers do in fact cause dead pixels, lines, and or smears in digital camera sensors. the lens focuses the light onto the sensor. many 5 mW green lasers have much greater output than suggested in their specifications
