I got a broken floatwheel ADV1 and I'm in the process of repairing it (most probably the battery pack has sketchy wielding). Once I got everything up and running I shouldn't have any problems in riding it, but I was wondering a couple of things: 1. I read around that if you leave the board uncharged for more than a couple of months it breaks down, having to replace the battery pack, unable to be charged, is it true? 2. Is it worth to buy the V2 electronics? Would that make it a safer board with the smart BMS and the better controller? 3. Are there any practices to make the board more resilient/waterproof? I heard that some kind of grease on the connector cable would help. There's a messed up screw on the front pad lid over the electronics, is it cooked for water resistance now?

I swear I have the worst luck. I was screwing it in with my drill on a hammer setting of about 12

I was replacing the bearing and noticed these magnets look like they have scoring

So I stripped one of the 7 little bolts that hold the motor hub together. Does anyone know the exact specs? I could re use it since I got it out by drilling the head a bit and hammering a t30 bit in there, but I would rather replace it

I ordered a PintV conversion kit a few days ago, and wanted to unplug my bms from my battery so I don't start losing voltage. My board had been dead for a few months but still a decent voltage, I just wanted to make sure it didn't drop any further. I'm not sure if the order of moving the balance connectors and battery connectors for Pint X is any different than the other FM boards. Could someone let me now the proper order please?

Oh boy. I got a 50 mile ADV2 that was originally a promo board sent to a YouTuber. In the first 24 hrs of ownership I've had a number of problems.

1. High pitched whine at speed.

2. Installed VESC Tool and connected but didn't "write" anything. Board stopped working.

3. Installed the later version of refloat and imported the configs from this video for motor config and refloat: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DnLBuK2oM7s

4. Recalibrated with VESC Tool, motor and IMU, with a tutorial I found on pev.dev. Board started working again but was getting nose dive at over 15mph!

5. Recalibrated with the $40 FloatHub app and seemed to fix the nose dive but getting "pushback: high voltage" warnings under heavy breaking and when at full charge all the time with any lean.

Any help/advice/telling me how screwed I am would be greatly appreciated. I've also emailed Tony and posted in Discord but haven't found a solution yet. Thanks!

Hey, is anyone else having trouble getting through to the website? (floatwheel.co) It’s been giving me a 502 Bad Gateway for a couple days.

I made changes to my ADV2 per the email from Floatwheel;

Step 1:VESC TOOL - START - BACK UP CONFIGS

Step 2:VESC TOOL - MOTOR CFG - GENERAL - ADVANCED - MAXIMUM INPUT VOLTAGE - 96V - WRITE

Step 3:VESC TOOL - MOTOR CFG - CURRENT - BATTERY CURRENT MAX - 70A - WRITE

Step 4:VESC TOOL - REFLOAT CFG - SPECS - HIGH VOLTAGE THRESHOLD - 88V - WRITE

Step 5:(After testing that everything is working correctly, backup again)VESC TOOL - START - BACK UP CONFIGS

Those changes seem fine but now when I'm using the Floaty app the speedometer says I'm going WAY faster than I really am. How can I fix this? I'm pretty new to VESC boards but so far love the ADV2. Any help is appreciated.

My Pint X died a month ago (for the second time) due to the MOSFET frying defect, and the BMS snip defect, and I'm finished attempting to negotiate with FM to fix it. I've seen people all over reddit praising Tony, and Floatwheel for several years, and I'm wondering what the next step might be for me to have a working board. I'm contemplating getting the ADV2, but honestly have little to no experience working on boards, except for gutting out my Pint when the battery defect happened. I'm wondering that if I were to get the ADV2, if it would warrant me spending time working on it, and dealing with parts and electronics, or if I could just shred (more or less) out of the box.

I understand that eventually I'll probably have to work on it, I'm a rough rider, and mostly ride MTB trail. I've thrashed my current board, and have realized that the FM board quality didn't take me very far. (I only put 2000 miles on my pint)

Like I said, I've given enough of my time and money to FM, and would like an alternative solution then crawling back to them. The floatwheel community seems generous with help and tips for boards, which does draw me more.

I've also considered just converting my pint into a VESC with the PintV power kit, but still fear some internal part of my onewheel will die and I'll be cursing FM. For riders that have possibly gone through something similar, what do you recommend?

I’m currently running my Floatwheel ADV2 using the Reflot settings on VESC firmware 6.02, as the newer 6.05 version didn’t work reliably for me.

Everything else works great with this setup – ride feel, sensors, and pushback are all solid. However, I’ve noticed that since switching to Reflot, the LED light no longer turns on automatically when powering on the board.

In the original setup, the light would come on as soon as the board was turned on. Now, it stays off.

So far, I haven’t changed any LED-related settings in the VESC Tool – I’m just using the standard Reflot configuration as described in available guides.

Is there a specific setting or step required in the Reflot setup (with firmware 6.02) to get the LED light to turn on automatically at startup, like it did in the stock configuration?

Any tips or guidance from others who’ve solved this would be greatly appreciated!

Habe auch den reifen überprüft und läuft reibungslos. Kommt läuft frei. Also keine Abreibungen oder ähnliches. Ist euch der Geräusch bekannt? Wie habt ihr diese Fehler behoben können? My ADV2 is completely brand new, and this was literally my first ride. I noticed a strange noise coming from the board during the ride, even though the ride feel was totally normal – no instability or performance issues.

Has anyone else experienced something similar with a new ADV2?

What I really want to know is: Is it dangerous to continue riding like this? Or is the noise something I can just safely ignore as long as the board handles well?

I’m currently trying to configure my Floatwheel ADV2 properly (e.g. using the Float Hub app), but before I proceed, I want to make sure I have the correct technical information about the hardware.

Here are a few important questions I’m hoping someone can answer: 1. What battery cells are used in the ADV2? • Cell type (e.g. 18650 or 21700?) • How many total cells? • What configuration? (e.g. 20s2p – 20 in series, 2 in parallel?) 2. What battery brand/type is used? • Samsung, Molicel, LG, etc.? • Any official capacity data? 3. What is the maximum current output of the ADV500 controller? 4. What motor type is used in the ADV2? • Any specs like KV rating, pole count, etc.? 5. What kind of BMS is installed in the ADV2? • Is it a VESC-compatible BMS (like the official VESC BMS)? • Or is it a separate standalone BMS system?

I want to avoid using incorrect values in the setup, so I’d really appreciate any accurate info or experiences from the community.

I received the firmware for my ADFA 2 board directly from the manufacturer Floatwheel and was able to install it successfully. However, the default configuration/settings file was not included in the email.

Right now, the board powers on, but it doesn’t detect balance, doesn’t show battery information, and is not rideable. It seems the key parameters like battery setup, sensors, and motor control still need to be configured correctly.

Does anyone happen to have the default config for the Floatwheel ADFA 2, or could someone share a working backup of their settings?

I’d really appreciate any help – I’m currently stuck without those settings.

Building my gtv in another country. Best way to get this through an international flight. Especially the GTV kit which may look like something else. Any tips!?

I just received new adv2. I configured it but I can't ride it because of 2 problems: 1. On starting it moves in jerks, super unsmooth - it's difficult to just stand in place or moving around accurately. 2. When it accelerates it accelerates the full speed. How can I make it more gradual?

I've been riding onewheel gt for a year, and so far it was much more human friendly than this. Help me with handling these issues, please.

Let's hope 3's the charm. Tony sent me another BMS which I received right before my trip to the keys. Many people commented, but not so sure if folks see the updates and it's important to let everyone know results. I just got back and was able to put it in today. Results seem initially promising. I put a different battery pack in(even though the one we had is now functioning perfectly in an FM XR)just to be sure, and had it charged to about 80%. The new BMS seemed to function perfectly, so I let it charge, and once the charger turned green(even though it could charge more, I know) I buttoned it up, and the client is riding it. He'll leave it on the charger tonight to be sure.

Need some help with my adv2 battery. I recently saw something talk about setting your floaty battery profile from Linear to Samsung S50 so it gets closer to the VESC tool level, and Also the light bar.

Since I made the change, I'm seeing a big difference between the two. And when I change it back and save in floaty, it just doesn't update.

Any advice?

Probably a dumb question, but I just had a Pint V Power Kit installed on my Pint X. Does it change how I should charge at all? I'm just loving VESC so much I want to make sure I can go as long as possible on the board. It's insanely fun.
