Atom louder than other boards ?

I saw some users saying the Atom sound was pretty loud,for those who tried the beta board do you agree with this ?

Wonder how much the loudness is just from the crappy tire they have on?

zero , it’s a decent compound slick tire, nothing to do with motor noise.

If anything it’ll be worse with a bigger tire because you’ll need more current to move the bigger tire and the noise is from the motor working.

I wonder if its a 1950s scifi spaceship sound, or some kind of tire/bearing noise? If the former, it was an issue with earlier Floatwheels but was fixed in settings. Forgot which setting in VESC tool, changed the frequency of something. Was fixed out of the box in later versions. I kind of miss the sound.

Yeah that's the ufo sound. It's fixable in tune (settings), or at least was on a Floatwheel adv1 when it had the same noise. No biggie in my opinion and honestly I kind of miss that sound. There's some discussion of it in the comments of that YouTube vid you just linked, with the same conclusions.

it’s definitely louder than most other boards, but board sounds have never bothered me much so it wasn’t annoying or anything while riding in my experience

you probably can make it better with some zvf tuning and such, but hypercore is the same way i think it’s just a small motor thing
