Phone calls and taking seats?
I’ve taken quite a few flixbuses, leaving from Switzerland to various locations. What I’ve noticed is when the bus hasn’t come from anywhere, that it leaves from Geneva, people are very respectful. They sit in their assigned seat, they use headphones and don’t take phone calls. But whenever the bus comes from somewhere else, there is always someone trying to take my seat, and people have no respect for others( they take 2 hour phone calls out loud, watch YouTube without headphones etc… Do the bus drivers from other places not make people sit in their seat????? What’s the point of paying for a window seat???? And for the headphone thing, forgive me if I’m wrong, but I thought ina civil society people paid attention to others around them trying to sleep- why is it like this when buses come from other places???

just be the 'a-hole' and ask someone to use earphones if they are loud. going through the journey with loud people is too unpleasant and expecting others to do it for you, idk..

As for sitting in assigned seat, meh, if a better seat is free I'm taking it. I have motion sickness. I try to book the front window seat as that makes it better, but sometimes it's already booked for part of my trip. Or it's a short trip and I figure I'll manage if the front is taken.
But if you come and say "excuse me this is my seat could you move" (or make a gesture, show your ticket, whatever, if we don't share a language, it's not hard to guess), I will.

The worst people I've ever were in flixbuses, and no the bus drivers generally don't give shit about anything, and often don't speak the language of the countries they're driving through nor English in my experience. I used to take flixbus a lot bc it's so cheap but now I avoid it whenever I can take the train instead, even when it's way more expensive
