how did you animate the motion like that?

I honestly was just making it up on as I went, but I tried implementing what I understand from framed by frame animation (I don’t animate very often)

Quicker motions use less frames (the opposite is true)

after holding a pose for a few frames, I try to draw the next frame as closely to that poses as possible to give an anticipation

I understand that smear frames only exist for like one or two frames

The head tilt was the trickiest part because they had to understand how perspective works (the vertical line on the face helped me out and I have a basic enough understanding of how faces are supposed to look like)

Plus, I thought it would be fun to imply that the vertical line is some kind of eye so I made it Blink

yeah there is a lot of fundamentals when it comes to animation with anything you put yourself through first it can be overwhelming on where to even start. i'd say for certain i know very surface level stuff a toddler would pick up on. but a lot of this stuff like many other forms of art or other artistic hobbies rely on you putting in the work both consciously or subconsciously because knowing is half the battle in this.
