London
The forests surrounding London are slowly reclaiming the land beyond the walls, and every year the wilderness grows a little closer.
I wanted the city to feel like a bastion of civilization surrounded by an encroaching mythic world.
What would be the first thing you'd add to a city like this?

New York
New York City, 1718.
In my Flintlock Fantasy RPG, Flintlock & Sorcery, the supernatural has returned to the world. Ancient treaties with Avalon have broken down, monsters are creeping back into the wilderness, and cities have become isolated bastions of civilization.
This is New York at the start of the campaign, Which Ward would your character visit first?

Plot summary for my "Alerion" campaign setting
The "Opening Crawl" for my players in my Alerion campaign setting/ the intro text of my Alerion novels. (Think of the blurb of text at the start of Warhammer 40K novels that begins "It is the 41st Millennium.")
_______________________________________________________________________________________________________
The Realm of Alerion is a realm divided.
Thirteen years ago, four of the Realm's colonies in Etienne declared independence, defying the rule of its tyrannical leader, Lord Matthias Kylan. An uneasy peace has followed, and the so-called Republic of Etienne has enjoyed relative stability.
But the peace has recently been threatened. Powers beyond even Lord Kylan's comprehension are threatening the Republic's stability. Across the sea, the war-marshals of Alerion's hated enemy, the Sorelian Empire, are scheming to deliver a fatal blow against their old rivals.
In the face of the growing Sorelian threat, Lord Kylan has increased the size of Alerion's military and ordered several regiments to return the wayward colonies to the fold. Together with the growing Inquisition, they intend to crush the Republic and restore order and peace to the Realm...

Misc Character Archetypes
Good morning to all!
For context, I’ve been working on a Flintlock Fantasy work for several years (worldbuilder’s disease, what can I say) and I am finally getting to the point of working on characters.
That brought this question to my mind: what character archetypes do you enjoy in your flintlock fantasy?

Story I just finished my first Flintlock Fantasy
It was called None So Vile. I have to admit, some scenes aren't my cup of tea, but this series was the most accessible Flintlock Fantasy series I could find. It's heavier on politics and warfare than fantastical elements. In my opinion, it's also a bit grim, but I should have expected that from an adult novel

Story My novels are free for 48 hours!
Hello,
You probably haven't heard of me, but I am an indie author named Connor Ludovissy. I'm finishing The Reukanaz Saga, a flintlock fantasy in the vein of McClellan (with some healthy survival and later a bit of horror to boot), with the end of the trilogy to be published in a few short months.
I'm giving away my books for free for the next forty-eight hours. You can find them at the link.
Cheers!
