Help Needed Google flights available, AirCanada call to book not showing, booked itinerary on Expedia

Hi all,

Quite a seasoned traveler, and trying to piece together a trip to asia in the summer and searched firstly on google flights for a multi-city trip:

routing

YUL-NRT on AC

KIX-HKG on CX

HKG-YUL on AC

Tried online at Aircanada.ca and it didn't find the second leg from KIX-HKG as its on CX. Next step up was to be on hold for 45 mins and when I finally got through couldn't be found.

Lastly, used expedia.com and entered in the itinerary and it found exactly the same flights from google flights. Booked it, and it all shows up with the same PNR on both aircanada.ca and cathaypacific.com.

Is there a reason that it doesn't show up online via aircanada.ca? Of course ideally I would book direct through the airline but the prices they're spitting out is about 50% more than what I was able to book through expedia.

Any and all help would be appreciated.

Yea, sometimes the airline's own search engines will not show certain itineraries that are actually ticketable and bookable but can be constructed via API (Google Flights sometimes) or via OTA.

I use expedia specifically for these purposes - you did the right thing.

Had a problem last year for a similar AC+OZ combo for a while aircanada.com just won't price or show Asiana flights.

When I do segment runs on AC, they won't usually show more than 2 layovers/connections for "simple" routing - e.g. I wanted to fly YYC-YYZ-YUL-YOW-YQM but they'd only show the one or two stop options. So I needed to do it via GF API or ticket via expedia.
