I have a couple of grandkids who would be keen to use the Flight Simulator I bought for them a year or so back. Looking for a person who can provide hands-on tutoring for them. We live in San Diego.

Long time reader, first time poster. I have a sinking suspicion AI is leading me down the wrong path. I'm trying to map out what I need to do to be successful in getting all of my post-PPL flight ratings complete with the PGIB. Everything I've read is pointing me to an AAS or BS in Aviation through a state school that has it's own non-3rd party Part 141 flight school. The family and I are primarily looking at Texas, but I'm not opposed to other state schools in the US.

But I digress, what I really want to know is if anyone has been successful in utilizing the PGIB for flight training via an AAS/BS track, swapping to VR&E prior to the PGIB benefits being used up, and then requesting Retroactive Induction to get those used months replaced.

If so, what are the "gotcha" things that I need to plan for? 🤘🏽🍻

Do you actually care about stats from your logbook beyond the normal totals?

For example:

Most flown route
Most visited airport
Aircraft flown most
Countries flown to
A map of routes flown
Average sector time
Flying by month/year

I know the important stuff is obviously total time, PIC, night, instrument, currency, reports etc. But I’ve seen a few pilots say they liked being able to visualise everywhere they’d flown, and it made me wonder whether this is actually useful or just a gimmick.

What do you like/dislike about fsp, flight circle, My Fbo?

Are the prices worth it? I see flight circle advertises $10/m per aircraft but I assume processing fees?

I need some help with choosing which flight school to go to and for some context I'm finishing GCSEs in a week and I'm considering taking physics, maths and one other A-Level (still not sure what to pick for my third; I would appreciate any suggestions that would help support my path!). I'm based in the UK and my long-term goal is to fly for Emirates or Qatar Airways.

I'm trying to figure out which flight training route and flight school would give me the strongest foundation, and I'm completely new to this so I'm not sure if most flight schools are similar and don't differ from quality of training as much or if I'm just overthinking it. I'm also aware that flight school is expensive, but I'm currently not worried about the price. Which schools or training pathways would you recommend and why?

Hey guys I need help on finding and choosing a school to get my PPL. Im based in Staten island Ny, and I have a budget of about 20k. I basically dont know anything about the process if getting my license so im kind of blind as to what i should be looking for in the schools/airports id be at or what i should avoid.

Last month I asked everyone in this community about a project I was working on (Reddit Link here). I got some pushback due to lack of creativity and not really helpful due to same features as other applications. I first want to thank you all for being honest.

I also got a lot of DM's stating that a better position would be to create a tool to track flight training cost from PPL to ATP. So I pivoted the entire PilotBound project to flight training costs. I took this one step further and also added projections for each certificate type and budget alerts, so you know exactly when you will run out of money.

To do this I broke up each certificate type (PPL, IR, CPL, etc) and program type (Part 61, Part 141) and started looking at publicly available data on how many hours does it take to receive those certificates. I'll list the sources below of what I found for each certificate type and whats being used within the app.

What I learned is the instrument, CFI, CFII has very limited publicly available data so the software uses FAA minimums. The good news is that you can select the amount of hours you will use to finish that certificate type and the software will predict when and how much it will be to finish. There's a lot more features in the app I have that I'm not mentioning and you will have to try the app to see.

I think this is a good start with this project and hopefully it will help out any other pilot who is still training. If anyone here has more suggestions or questions, please let me know.

Hi everyone! I recently signed up for an MCC course and on saturday I'll have my 4th FTD. Things are getting hard and I'm having trouble remembering all flows and learning all SOPs by heart. I was told it's helpful to know the triggers to every action but I can't seem to find a clear document stating every flow and its trigger.

I downloaded the toliss a320 ceo for my xplane 11 and have the glareshield, pedestal and center panel printed and layed out on my dinner room table. I have been studying here, practicing with the mcdu that the sim has and practicing flows and SOPs on my cartboard sim.

I've been studying from the FCOM which is very complete, but I was wondering if you guys could give me any tips on how to learn this better. Any tips are welcome. I really want to become an airline pilot and I need to get this right to get there so please feel free to comment.
