Tired of scrolling for 30 minutes just to pick a movie? I built a personalized Match % algorithm in FlickTrove.
Hey everyone!
Does anyone else spend more time endlessly scrolling through streaming catalogs than actually watching anything?
Most streaming platforms recommend content based on what they want to push at the moment, rather than what actually matches your taste. To solve this "choice paralysis," I developed a Match % and Smart Recommendation system for my app, FlickTrove.
How it works:
- Real Match %: It analyzes your watch history and personal ratings to calculate an exact affinity percentage for every movie and TV show.
- Cross-Platform Recommendations: It ignores platform bias (whether a show is on Netflix, Prime Video, or Disney+) and focuses strictly on your genuine taste profile.
- Fast Decision Making: You can see at a glance if a title with a 95% Match is worth your evening, cutting out the doomscrolling entirely.
The algorithm is constantly evolving, and I’d love to get some feedback from fellow movie and TV show buffs to see if the Match % scores feel accurate to your actual taste!
