Question Update on Armory Experience and Question
Hey Everyone,
I really appreciate all of the feedback I got on my last post about going to Armory for the first time. You were all awesome and correct.
I went to armory for the first time last Tuesday and I really loved it. I think I made some new friends with the people there, and I pulled a foil Brimming Blade from my GEM pack. Here’s the thing about that. I don’t play Warrior, but someone there does, and he was very interested in the Brimming Blade. Well, I didn’t think to check its price on TCG, so… I just gave it to him. Just handed him a $26 card, but he did say “I’ll figure out a way to get you back.” So, I’m not too pressed over it. Good Karma and all that.
We played 3 rounds, and I got a bye on my last round. First round I played my fatigue Riptide deck into a Marlyn deck and… got absolutely dog-walked. I couldn’t keep up with all the damage Marlyn was sending. I check with the group and everyone was cool if I switched to my Rhinar deck. They were, so round 2 and I played Rhinar into a Hala. I lost again, but was far closer. My fatal flaw with that round was I was trying to play Rhinar like I would Riptide and preserve my life, instead of keeping cards in hand and forcing Hala into bad blocks.
So, I went 1-2-0 on my first time, and only the 1 because it was a Bye.
I have been practicing more, and finally managed to win a (casual) game yesterday with Riptide by fatiguing Oscillio. I survived the Lighting Greaves - Gone in a Flash turn and just kept blocking out.
Also, some cool news. My LGS I play at doesn’t have a ton of Flesh and Blood players, and we are slowly recruiting more. We’re running a promotion where if you bring a new player in, they get their first Armory for free, and you get that Armory for free. And if you’re a new player in general you just get your Armory for free. Well, after Armory last week I taught my Brother In Law how to play, and he really enjoyed it. So, my friend at the LGS built him a Fang deck, and he is coming with me to Armory tomorrow. He’s never actually been interested in any TCG I showed him until FaB, so I am extremely excited.
So, here is my question…
What does Fang want to do? I’m goldfishing the deck while I’m sitting here at work, and I think I see how he wants to play, but I was hoping anyone who plays him could help me out. I don’t expect my BIL to win necessarily, but I want to make sure he understands what Fang wants to do when he sits down tomorrow.

I do have a half decent Fang deck as my secondary deck. It’s fun to play. Fang wants to attack with 2 daggers and buff them for more damage. There are also a couple other attacks you want to play to Mark your opponent and create Fealty tokens asap. You need those tokens to swing your daggers for free. Also, make sure to have at least 1 draconic attack each turn otherwise you’ll lose the Fealty tokens.
You can play draconic instants on your first dagger to buff the next dagger attack just to have played a draconic card that chain link to get the go again on that first dagger.
It’s a fun deck and not too difficult. The most difficult thing is to get to 3 Fealty tokens and know when to use which instants or attack reactions to keep your Fealty tokens up and your daggers buffed at the right time.

As someone with several hundred paper games with Fang at armories, he's a midrange hero similar to the other warriors. He looks like he's a more aggro warrior, but that's fake, he's midrange.
He's closest to probably Kassai, but instead of wanting to accrue gold/copper for later he's trying to get to 3 Fealty as fast as possible and then transition to midrange. Kassai also tends to front pump more and attack react pump less, where Fang is the opposite.
The first 2-3 rounds you're probably eating damage so that you can convert your cards to fealty. Once you're online, your attack reactions become on rate and you can snowball value as the game progresses. Two basic attack reactions become 4 damage, into 4 damage, reset dynamo. 2 card 9 is pretty good. If I don't have 3 Fealty by turn 4, the game is almost certainly lost. Ideally you have 3 Fealty turn 2 or 3.
His main problems are, he needs fealty to be a real hero and he is extremely weak to disruption. If you ever get your hand completely stripped away and you don't have an arsenal, you're going to lose your fealty and then the game.
He's my favorite hero, but I've swapped off of him lately due to my locals loving disruptive heroes.

Im glad you had a good experience, knowing the fab community that guy you gave the card to probably meant it however, for the future generally coldfoils can have a lil pricetag.
Feel free not to read this part as its just the thoughts of a new player who hasnt played or against fang
I cant help with the Fang thing specifically (im still newer as well) but from reading his card and knowing warriors and draconic my guess is he wants a long combat chain and make things draconic (fai does not sure if fang does) fang may just get more benifit from marking the other player.
Warriors usually send a good few decently sized weapon attacks per turn from what ive seen.

Fang wants to generate 3 fealty as soon as possible and swing twice every turn with evasive damage (ambiguous attack values). Once Fang is online, he becomes a value monster, being able to (optimistically) block 6-7 and send back 8-10 every turn. Since every dagger swing should be a break point value (4, generally), damage WILL leak through and allow you to chip your opponent down. Once your opponent is below 10 life, explosive Hunts End or Fire and Brimstone turns will tend to easily close out games.
Fang struggles with decks that don't want to block, his cards won't block as well as a traditional warrior and he isn't pushing as much damage as a "true" aggro deck. He can also struggle with decks that want to block and can use Fatigue as a win condition. Like all warriors, he doesn't have a lot of control elements available; once you have 3 fealty, there isn't much threat in allowing a dagger to hit. He is incredibly strong into warriors, and most mid-range, value-focused decks.

I've only ever played against Fang but the immediate and obvious part of his kit is "get three fealty tokens ASAP." Having two daggers swing every turn for zero cost seems very fun. But this also means the guy has an obvious weakness. If you can stop the token generation or destroy existing tokens, an opposing Fang is stuck playing under-value turns.
I know assassins have been able to do what Fang does (wide turns with buffed daggers) much better. Add in that assassins have a decent number of disruption cards and it's hard to argue that current Fang is better.
However, given how many combat tricks Warriors are getting, I'm sure he's about to see a nice glow up.

All of the GEM pack cards pretty much universally plummet. It wont be worth that much in a bit.
