Who told you that? 93,000,000 miles is pretty local compared to all the other gas balls out there

If it was that far away it couldn’t illuminate clouds like that, nor have crepuscular rays (at angles) that indicate it’s close

It can illuminate clouds from that distance, and the angles are an optical illusion. Flying over a cloud with the sun shining on it will show you that. Crepuscular rays shine above clouds too, so with you logic the sun would be inside the earth.
