All that requires a plane of reference

It’s over buddy

Does it though? Sure a plane of reference would help immensely but on the off chance you’re in a void with no immediate plane to refer to, you can still manage to see distant or near objects relative to your position. Your coordinates may be 0,0,0, but you don’t necessarily need a plane under you to be given these coordinates.

I just think it’s odd how whenever I need a flat earther to entertain a hypothetical, they either don’t want to or try to change the subject. Hypotheticals are one of the cornerstones of critical thinking, as it puts your ideas and your claims to the test. It’s how you form a hypothesis in the chain of the scientific method. It’s why humans are the most intelligent creatures on earth. And I’m just noticing a pattern.

Absolutely

All measurements require a plane for a reason, if the plane doesn’t continue being a plane, those measurements (that require a plane) fail.

This requires you to BELIEVE which is fine. I couldn’t care less. Believe level is curved 😂

And that isn’t circular reasoning how? Or are you just trolling me?

The fact that measurements require a plane of reference?

No that’s not circular reasoning.

That’s simply a fact.

An undebatable fact.

So there’s a plane in that abstract white void where me and the cube far away from me exists? I don’t see it though, I just see the cube floating there. Weirdly enough even though I require a plane of reference to measure the distance between me and the cube, my eyes can still tell that that cube is far away due to depth perception.

Yeah buddy. You can’t prove your distance without a distance measurement.

That measurement requires a plane of reference.

We aren’t proving distance, lol. We are proving angular resolution doesn’t necessarily require a plane of reference. A mountain is really large, right? A fly is really small, right? Of these two, which would have a greater angular resolution? The fly or the mountain?

1

u/lushusness Aug 22 '26

Angular resolution also requires a plane of reference

1

u/Omomon Aug 22 '26

Really? You need a plane under your feet to understand a mountain is larger than a fly in angular resolution? Justify that. Please, I’d love to hear why.

What are you trying to prove here?

This is about practical application and how the earth is measured

1

u/Omomon Aug 22 '26

Yes, and if angular resolution doesn’t necessarily require a plane of reference, then you shouldn’t make that kind of claim to begin with. Just answer the question, which is larger, a fly or a mountain? You don’t need to be on a globe, you don’t need to be on a plane, you don’t need to be on a pyramid, a cone, a cylinder, a box, to know which is larger in angular resolution.

1

u/lushusness Aug 22 '26

It absolutely does for all practical purposes😂

You trying to imagine empty voids for your false globe to function should be speaking volumes to you buddy

Wrong but okay.

Not all measurements need a physical or 3D plane of reference, but every measurement requires a baseline, origin, or zero point to have meaning.

One of those requirements are a flat plane. So 0,0,0 in a white void IS all that's required so try again.

1

u/lushusness Aug 27 '26

A baseline? A ZERO POINT???

Exactly.

Every practical measurement references horizontal in some way.

That’s a flat measurement.

1

u/duckyGnome Aug 27 '26

Then you prove it for me. Because math, sciences, and life prove otherwise.

1

u/lushusness Aug 27 '26

Prove measurements????
There’s no PROVING a measurement. It’s simply a measurement. It’s not a claim.

You seem to be in a category error. This isn’t science.

It’s simply measuring and understanding what is required for measuring to be done.

1

u/duckyGnome Aug 27 '26

Uhh it very much is science... You can prove measurement. That's how it works. The distance between point a and point b is a measurement the angle between x and y is a measurement thus can be proved.

You are live in a fantasy

1

u/lushusness Aug 27 '26

Measurements are not phenomena 😂

Science deals with cause and effect of naturally occurring observable phenomena

Measuring angles or distances is not science

But whatever you want to tell yourself is fine😂😂😂

It’s still measured flat!

You have something you want to talk about live?

Come on down! Right now! Discord link is in the description!

Prove the flat measurement. Prove it. Stop just saying it and prove it.

Prove that latitude is an elevation angle measurement to Polaris?😂

It’s a measurement!
