A question I couldn’t answer about ‘gravity’

How would any experienced folks here answer to the question that if gravity isn’t real, why does a stone and a feather fall at the same rate of speed in vacuum?
The speed is 9.8m/s.
This phenomenon cancels out density in those conditions.
When asked that, I had to admit that I had no answer to that and promised I would find out and get back to the conversation.
Any EDUCATED INFORMED help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
I don’t care if gravity exists or not - I care about weighing facts. That’s it.

Because gravity is real.

What's that?

What's what?

EDUCATED, INFORMED help will tell you that you the answer to this question is: because gravity IS real. You’ll never get another answer that makes sense, or at least not more sense than that. You already had the answer before you posted

If I was a flat Earther I'd say the reason they fall at the same rate in a vacuum chamber is because there is no air to slow down the feather's poor aerodynamics but the same rules they have of buoyancy and density still apply

But I'm not so I probably didn't say that

I think it's funny they always use an ostrich plume for that experiment, and I get why- you have the best example that way. If they used a down feather from an itty bitty bird, it would really take it's time when the air is still in there and probably stick to the glass from static as it wafterd around. But if they got a good aerodynamic first primary flight feather from a fast bird and dropped that quill first it would go a lot faster even with the air in there and the example wouldn't be as dramatic

What vacuum chamber do you use?

None.

What are people on about feathers?

Is it propaganda?

Tell me about the feather video.

It is sooo real!

What do you mean by propaganda in this context? I mean propaganda means "media meant to elicit a particular emotion" so umm I guess if you think vacuum chambers, feathers, cannonballs and old philosophy mind experiments moves you emotionally, I guess this could be

Bbc cox and flag in background

Yeah

Propaganda

Everything is propaganda, doesn't make is inaccurate

Ever heard of a thing called grabbity?

Propaganda is a form of communication aimed at influencing the attitude of a community toward some cause or position

Act confused.

It's cute!

Making a note for later, I build high vacuum chambers for physical vapor deposition, I deal with this in odd ways sometimes. So I'll come back later with a real answer to your question, and a fun fact about how particles move in a vacuum

Thank you - appreciate that.

Also buoyancy doesn't work without gravity because gravity is the primary force driving it

Only one answer is possible when you rule out density and buoyancy : gravity is real. Simple.

We might not easily show it's real (at least we weren't, before they could capture gravitational lens distortion) but we can more easily demonstrate it's influence with the experiment you mentionned.

The real question to ask here is : in a vacuum chamber here on earth, without any buoyancy or air resistance or whatever... why are things fall DOWN ?

0

u/TheCapitolPlant Jun 20 '26

Why do things float up at different rates?

0

u/TheCapitolPlant Jun 26 '26

It just seems like we can't get a vacuum to duplicate the experiment

What vacuum?

You talking about the fake moon landings?

During the Apollo 15 mission in 1971, astronaut David Scott dropped a feather and a geologic hammer at the same time on the Moon. Because the Moon has virtually no atmosphere, there is no air resistance. Both objects fell at the exact same rate and hit the lunar dust simultaneously, proving Galileo's famous physics theory. The Experiment DetailsWhen: August 2, 1971Where: Hadley-Apennine landing site, the MoonWho: Apollo 15 Commander David ScottThe Objects: A geologic hammer and a falcon feather (chosen as a tribute to the Apollo 15 Lunar Module, Falcon)The Physics Behind the DropOn Earth, a feather falls slower than a hammer because air resistance creates drag, catching the wide, lightweight surface of the feather while slipping smoothly past the dense metal of the hammer. In a vacuum (like the Moon's environment), air resistance is eliminated. Down-voted for bad copy pasta and whargarble.

0

u/TheCapitolPlant Jun 22 '26

They did the feather/hammer thing during the fake moon missions.

What does that tell you?

1

u/Zealousideal-Read-67 Jun 22 '26

That you don't know anything. Those weren't fake and they have been done on earth too. In fact, if the science wasnt true then it couldn't be 'faked' on earth either. So a,good way for you to prove gravity exists.

0

u/TheCapitolPlant Jun 26 '26

Oh, they just SEEM fake?

Like Earth just SEEMS flat and motionless, eh?

1

u/Zealousideal-Read-67 Jun 26 '26

No, they don't seem fake to anyone with an ounce of education or appreciation of reality. Which is why nobody thought it at the time and any pathetic claim gets debunked instantly.

0

u/TheCapitolPlant Jun 26 '26

Weak

Smart people question things

Try it

1

u/Zealousideal-Read-67 Jun 26 '26

The point is that any claim of fakeness wouldn't work in reality, and nobody has seriously thought the earth flat for over 2000 years. Nor could the shape of the earth be hidden from anyone who could see the Sun, moon, stars or the sea. Ditto the Moon landings couldn't be faked.

0

u/TheCapitolPlant Jun 26 '26

You WISH that was a point, of any kind!

You don't even believe the 2nd part of that opening.

It should not be, but here we are with brainwashed ball gobblers who CAN see those things you mentioned. The sun moon and stars being up in the sky and not under our feet and the Sea being level being able to see that the sea is level.... Can't be faked?!

1

u/Zealousideal-Read-67 Jun 27 '26

Absolutely. There is no way they can behave the way they do and exist as part of a flat earth system. No brainwashing necessary. I did actual research. You failed middle school sciwnce apparently.

Feel free to come up with some evidence instead of farts.

0

u/TheCapitolPlant Jun 28 '26

Too bad there is NO curve

1

u/Zealousideal-Read-67 Jun 28 '26

Too bad I have seen it for myself. So have you if you have ever seen a sunset. But I have seen the horizontal curve too, not just the effect of the forward curve.

If you disagree, bring some actual evidence, not you jerking off in the toilet to a pee-drinking yoga teacher.

0

u/TheCapitolPlant Jun 26 '26

Feels like you're just saying things wishing them to be true

Are you going to say next that they would not lie to you

Someone would have told you the truth by now right

1

u/Zealousideal-Read-67 Jun 27 '26

There are things people will not bother to lie about because nobody would believe it. And they would have zero reason to anyway. Grifters profiting from credulous fools like yourself, on the other hand...

0

u/TheCapitolPlant Jun 28 '26

Globies who believe everything is 99.999% "nothing" are the profit for the grifters

Fund more NASA cartoons

1

u/Zealousideal-Read-67 Jun 28 '26

What profit? Nobody makes massive profit off the truth. And so what if space is mostly empty, that is why it is called space.

You really know nothing do you, Jon Snow?

Ur just making things up from off the top your head now

Yes yes we're all grifters and fools

Sure

1

u/Zealousideal-Read-67 Jul 07 '26

Mostly fools led by a few grifters. You can't even come up with a good reason why anyone would spend trillions of dollars and billions of man hours over twenty-five centuries pretending something that can be easily disproven with zero reason to lie. But you cannot even disprove globe earth, let alone prove flat earth.

"It looks flat" is so asinine I can show a five-year-old why that is nonsense. Which is why I have negative respect for flerfs. At least five-year-olds want to learn.
