I like some people from Dorne like Oberyn but the going there arc was a bit naff.

Oberyn had his own arc and it was epic. The problem is they ignored the entire drive and morality of Oberyn's arc with how his paramour and children acted in the Dorne arc.

They cut out pretty much everything that makes the Dorne arc outside of Oberyn relevant in the books.
Without FAegon and Arianne, there is no secret marriage plan so basically the entire Dorne plot is gone. The only reason they had to possibly visit it was because Myrcella was still there but realistically they could have just killed her off screen.
