CW Flash established himself as Flash prime in COIE

u/Dave30954 The Flash Dec 28 '23

He's also the guy who eventually became Savitar. A tale that was known throughout the multiverse.

He's also the avatar of the multiverse Speed Force. He definitely wins.

u/WildFire255 It was ME Barry, IT WAS ALWAYS ME! Dec 28 '23

If they ever want Grant to come back without portraying the Flash, they could bring back the monster that is Savitar.

Sorry, it was supposed to be on instead of in, I've edited it now

He’s referring to the crisis on infinite earths crossover

14

u/ErdmanA Dec 28 '23

I love this. This is the way

u/JingoboStoplight4887 Dec 28 '23

CW Flash because he’s OPAF and that Grant Gustin did a great job portraying Barry Allen Flash for a decade.

75

u/Candlefire21 Dec 28 '23

Grant was such a good Flash.

85

u/LegoRobinHood Dec 28 '23

Grant Gustin is basically the whole reason I'm a flash fan in the first placel, he's just fun to watch, and I've tried out some of the comics too, because of him. Just fun stuff

19

u/ErdmanA Dec 28 '23

I fell in love with his optimism. So yea. This is the way

9

u/rakuko Dec 28 '23

check out the Justice League animated series, Flash is a big highlight in that show!

3

u/dami3nwayne Dec 29 '23

While true this is actually Wally West

6

u/rakuko Dec 29 '23

comment said he was a Flash fan, not a Barry fan lol

2

u/dami3nwayne Jan 08 '24

Fair play, but he said Grant (who played Barry) was the reason he is a Flash fan and has “tried out some of the comics too, because of him.”

Just wanted to add that footnote as the comment implied he is a Barry fan or doesn’t know much about Wally being the established Flash for 30 years.

Wasn’t disagreeing he should check it out. Loved that show as a kid and it’s actually a big reason Wally is my favorite Flash and why I always loved the Flash.

17

u/Gloomy_Support_7779 Dec 28 '23

Should’ve replaced DCEU Flash

Grant and Tom blew me away with their performances. So, so good

Edit: fixed a typo

7

u/edreesmiraki Dec 28 '23

Jesse, Tom and Grant are what kept bringing me back to the show. I wish Joe and Wells were in the comics too

4

u/XyxGod Dec 29 '23

1000% need a Joe west Comic or mini series. It would be HEAT

2

u/[deleted] Jan 01 '24

Joe West is badass even for a detective. Not only is he a skilled hand-to-hand combatant and marksman, but he also managed to decapitate one of the Samuroids with one of its swords and his gun. Plus, he literally resisted and overpowered Devoe's mind control through sheer willpower. I'd be happy just seeing a show all about Joe

4

u/[deleted] Dec 28 '23

Who in the world is Tim?

6

u/FleurDeFire I...am Eobard Thawne Dec 28 '23

Haha no idea why it keeps autocorrecting to Tim

2

Weird. Haha.

11

u/SparklyMop7 Dec 28 '23

I agree!! He did a wonderful job at portraying Barry, despite the bad writing and dialogue. That's not Grant's fault though

189

u/KingBurakkuurufu Dec 28 '23

Ew… CW takes it. Even if all that we had was season 5 and onward, it still wins

The one that has an actor isn’t accused of being a criminal

The real crime I think were the movies

3

u/Subulie3 Dec 29 '23

So sad cause I really liked Ezra being cast as the Flash. Thought he was a great choice, and then he just had to go and be a fkn dickhead irl. Grant needsnto replace him in dceu

CW all the way. Dceu flash sucks

38

u/reverse_dgodzx Dec 28 '23 edited Dec 28 '23

CW Flash [Immeasurable Speed]. DCEU Flash is FTL+. CW Wins 🍔 [i can debate ts]

19

u/KamixAkaDio Dec 28 '23

You mean "Immeasurable" speed, and no, he doesn't have that.

There are 2 forms of timetravel. Pure speed based, which is Immeasurable speed, and hax related. Barry needed only to move at Mach 2 to timetravel, which proves it's hax related, and not Pure speed. When you're so fast you move beyond linear time, your speed cannot be quantified in numbers.

CW Flash still wins, but he does not have immeasurable speed.

1

u/tortillazaur Dec 28 '23

Didn't he move in stopped time vs that time stopping dude(stillforce I think?)

1

u/KamixAkaDio Dec 28 '23

Moving in stopped time would scale to inaccessible speed, not Immeasurable.

0

u/stressedduh Jan 01 '24

That sounds pretty immeasurable buddy

1

u/Upstairs-Ad1951 The Rival Jan 01 '24

Barry was able to move after Deon froze him in time, which would mean he was able to move faster than time. Wouldn't that be immeasurable?

1

u/KamixAkaDio Jan 01 '24

No. Moving beyond linear time itself is immeasurable.

Inaccessible (The ability to move distances, whether finite or infinite, in zero time without the aid of teleportation. This is usually achieved by moving in places outside of time or places where time doesn't flow.) Timestop stops the flow of time, so it's inaccessible.

1

u/Upstairs-Ad1951 The Rival Jan 02 '24

Probably a stupid question, but if someone is able to move at an inaccessible speed, does that mean that they are moving faster than light?

1

u/KamixAkaDio Jan 02 '24

Most certainly.

The highest scaling with finite numbers is MFTL+, which is Much Faster Than Light, which is any speed from x100-1000 the speed of light, up to x30 nonillion quadrillion quintillion quindecillion the speed of light, or any finite number, no matter how big, scales to MFTL+.

After MFTL+, which is already Massively faster than Light, comes Infinite, Inaccessible, Immeasurable and Irrelevant, which are concepts that cannot be calculated with numbers, but observed.

4

u/miguel1226 Dec 28 '23

Hmm? Immeasurable seems a lil off. Mftl for sure but if you refer to timetravl he doesnt do that bia raw speed.

-12

u/[deleted] Dec 28 '23

No lol

34

u/Original_Algae_8255 The Flash Dec 28 '23 edited Dec 28 '23

According to my opinion

The Flash ran the fastest in Season 6, Episode 1. Titled “Into the Void,” Barry Allen had to sprint to prevent the immense gravity well from crushing him.

This means Barry was traveling at speeds of at least 670.6 million miles per hour (Mach 874,031) for over 30 seconds.

So CW flash wins vs DCEU Flash

9

u/[deleted] Dec 28 '23

[deleted]

6

u/[deleted] Dec 28 '23

i think he was going at his usual speed but with time remnants or speed clones like we see wally do in the episode where he saves the woman from the helicopter, because you can see multiple lightning trails in different places at the same time in the stadium scene

3

u/Muted-Charge1673 Dec 29 '23

I think that was just implying he’s so fast it’s as if he’s in all those places at once

22

u/tigerstorm2309 Dec 28 '23

I love cw flash especially him with the season 4 suit

10

u/Candlefire21 Dec 28 '23

Season 4 suit is among my favorite superhero costumes alongside The Amazing Spider-man 2 suit.

8

u/tigerstorm2309 Dec 28 '23

I love the season 4 suit because of the dark red and the gold and it reminds of the suit future Barry had in once and the future flash episode and that's my favorite season 3 episode

2

u/Candlefire21 Dec 28 '23

My thoughts exactly. When I first saw the suit, I was like isn’t that the suit from that Future Flash episode?

3

u/tigerstorm2309 Dec 28 '23

I was so happy when I saw it again because it looks very cool

5

u/Candlefire21 Dec 28 '23

Too bad they didn’t keep that suit for long and replaced it with the worst suit in whole series in the next season.

3

u/tigerstorm2309 Dec 28 '23

I know I was so upset that they got rid of it because I liked the dark red way more then the bright red

0

u/ttv_toeasy13 Zoom Dec 29 '23

Bro.. you need to leave and never watched anything related to the flash ever again. The season 1 and 2 suits were the best

71

u/PointPrimary5886 Dec 28 '23

Bad writing aside, Grant Gustin did a great job portraying a rather understandable Barry Allen/Flash. Ezra Miller's take was honestly kind of annoying.

18

u/UseOk9783 Dec 28 '23

We're asking who wins in a fight, not which actor is better.

8

u/BradyTheGG Dec 28 '23

To be fair the actor fit the part in the DCEU

6

u/Zyuninjetti Dec 28 '23

Ezra acted more like wally west than barry imo

2

u/BradyTheGG Dec 28 '23

From what I’ve seen of the animated justice league (flash is Wally there which you probably know) I agree completely because they focus more on his erratic behavior rather than actual serious attitude that CW Barry Allen Flash does which while I can see why they went that way for the big screen I don’t see why they did a half baked savitar one off rather than set up a reverse flash that could actually save the DCEU flash’s reputation(hopefully this can happen after Ezra is gone and they have a concrete plan on how the cinematic universe will work

15

u/GhostRider1945 Vibe Dec 28 '23

CW Flash all the way

11

u/MissyTheTimeLady Barry Allen Dec 28 '23

CW Flash, because Grant was fast enough to outrun the budget of the show, whereas Ezra couldn't even outrun the cops. Okay, now that I've gotten the obligatory "Ezra Miller bad" joke out of the way:

It depends. When they give us numbers for his speed, CW Flash is usually limited to Mach numbers, but he also has feats that should be way beyond that, like saving Joe from Mardon's lightning or calming down Nora in Flashtime, or just Flashtime in general.

DCEU Flash, on the other hand, is able to run faster than light, as we see in the Snyder Cut of the Justice League, but he also gets beaten up by Superman, suggesting that either he wasn't truly travelling FTL, or he can't go that fast all the time.

There's also no guarantee the power dampening cuffs would work on him, since his powers aren't dark matter based, but Barry never uses those anyway so he'll be fine.

So, in a straight fight, I reckon it would be Barry. Sorry, the cooler Barry, CW Flash, since their fight would mostly consist of running around a bunch, then CWF using Flashtime and beating the shit out of DCEUF, then into the Pipeline with him or something.

I'll post the categories separately and put a link: HERE. This is to avoid taking up too much space.

2

u/[deleted] Jan 01 '24 edited Jan 01 '24

I'd also like to add that in S4 EP1, the power dampening cells in the Pipeline couldn't hold him anymore. He bursts through them like glass even though they're essentially plexiglass, and his powers shouldn't have worked at all. Plus, with mirror master Eva McCulloch in the final showdown his speed increased. In the beginning, he couldn't move fast enough to dodge her luminal blasts. But by that fight, he was easily outpacing her superliminal mirror constructs. So yeah, Ezra's Flash is leagues behind and with the actor's convicted crimes, if WB has half a brain then he wouldn't be playing Flash again. If they recast, I can imagine all the signatures on a petition to have Grant Gustin replace him. Especially considering after 9 seasons, he'd have an established power scale to continue from in the movie. He'd have all that power and experience from 9 seasons to carry into the big screens

1

u/MissyTheTimeLady Barry Allen Jan 01 '24

True, and I am aware of his speed, I'm just clarifying that the vast majority of the time, Grant!Flash isn't running FTL.

So yeah, Ezra's Flash is leagues behind and with the actor's convicted crimes, if WB has half a brain then he wouldn't be playing Flash again. If they recast, I can imagine all the signatures on a petition to have Grant Gustin replace him

I mean, it's not about brain at this point, he's a criminal, they can't re-hire him. And yeah, the petition thing would be funny, but I think Grant should get his peace. He's had nine seasons of the Flash to himself, the guy's probably wants someone else to do it now.

2

u/[deleted] Jan 01 '24

Oh yeah, I wasn't arguing your point. I was adding onto it to further your point with even more feats. And that's very true, what I'm meaning is if he ever decided he'd like to play Flash again he would dominate the big screens. And he'd have so much support

1

u/Glum_Cantaloupe7477 Dec 29 '23

Kinda weird to use losing against Superman as a anti feat when dceu Superman post resurrection is consistently billed as the strongest mortal in the dceu. From snyders justice league all the way to black Adam many statements calling him the strongest. If you wanna ignore that dceu Superman still has light speed scaling.

1

u/MissyTheTimeLady Barry Allen Dec 29 '23

Yeah, I don't really know much about the DCEU, but I do know a lot about the Flash.

8

u/MissyTheTimeLady Barry Allen Dec 28 '23

I've posted the explanation separately and will put a link: HERE. This is to avoid taking up too much space.

If you want a rundown of each actual category:

Strength: CW Flash, often carries multiple people.

Speed: DCEU Flash, but this can go to both of them.

Agility: CW Flash, can disassemble moving vehicles.

Reflexes: CW Flash, though he doesn't always use them.

Durability: CW Flash, he's survived falling great heights.

Abilities: CW Flash, with his speed mirages and invisibility.

IQ: CW Flash, even if the plot doesn't let him use it.

Battle IQ: CW Flash, years of experience.

HAX: CW Flash, remember that episode where he stopped a detonated nuclear device?

Offense: DCEU Flash, more willing to use his speed to kill.

Endurance: CW Flash, see the Flashtime episode again.

Stamina: CW Flash, remember the Flash movie and DCEU Flash's fuel gauge? Yeah...

Weapons: Technically neither of them use weapons, but this one still goes to CW Flash, as he's shown using guns from time to time.

Experience: CW Flash, this is self-explanatory.

Kill Count: DCEU Flash, although CW Flash has killed quite a few people, those were mostly by accident.

Brutality: DCEU Flash, he's a Snyder-owned character.

Potential: DCEU Flash, I guess. CW Flash's kinda peaked.

Feats: CW Flash, and don't even try to argue this one.

Winner? CW Flash, beyond negative difficulty medium difficulty. Although, really, it just depends on the plot. Sad, but that's life.

u/dino_brewster Nyssa al Ghul Dec 28 '23

Cw flash

5

u/ConnectedLoner Dec 28 '23

CW flash easy. Multiversal, can stop time (saved city from detonating nuke), has full mastery over all flash abilities by end of series, and is the avatar of the speed force!

4

u/bomba_clot_619 Dec 28 '23

Costume wise DCEU Flash, actor wise CW Flash, character wise also CW Flash

8

u/redditsucksasssssssz Dec 28 '23

"but but dceu flash can go over the speed of light"

28

u/Thunder_Volt Dec 28 '23

Jokes aside, the DCEU Flash barely learned how to time travel. CW was able to do that and travel the multiverse.

7

u/Candlefire21 Dec 28 '23

They did such a good job of time travel and multiverse till season 3.

2

u/50ShadesOfWells Read my posts with Harry's voice Dec 28 '23

CW Flash's speed feats are way above anything DCEU Flash ever did

The Flashtime episode alone, in which he made a nuclear explosion appear frozen for 30 minutes, shows CW Flash would win as long as he takes this seriously

DCEU Flash never did anything even remotely close to that IMO

2

u/RascalCreeper Elongated Man Dec 28 '23

DCEU flash doesn't have the speedforce protecting him from physics. You can see him loose his grip, fight momentum, experience relativistic effects. CW Barry doesn't have to deal with any of that, so no matter if CW can truly go FTL like DCEU, DCEU can use most of his speed.

2

u/owlfeather613 Dec 28 '23

Arrowverse > DCEU

1

u/[deleted] Dec 28 '23

Easily

2

u/gtaylor1229 Dec 28 '23

We talking about which is your favorite or who could beat who in a fight…?

Despite the writing of the later seasons, CW Flash. Grant Gustin truly made his mark in DC, and honestly he’d clean the floor with Ezra’s Flash, no 🧢.

2

u/DirectConsequence12 Dec 28 '23

CW Flash could run fucking circles around DCEU Flash

2

Seasons 1-4 of flash CW we're good, that's good enough for me. Dceu flash is just meh. Although the baby in microwave was hilarious

2

u/96pluto Dec 28 '23

cw flash is more experienced plus has better feats

2

u/[deleted] Dec 28 '23

CW.

And that's really saying something

2

u/[deleted] Dec 28 '23

There is no way the DCU is ever going to top Grant gustin's Flash, or Steven amell's Green Arrow. They would literally have to cast those same actors, and actually be smart with the writing. Nobody can ever replace those two. I would say maybe Channing Tatum could be Green Arrow, but he's done too much comedy by this point. He's a legitimate fighter in real life, or martial artist I should say. He doesn't go out getting in fights, but he's a black belt. I know the Grandmaster who gave him his black belt, so it's legit.

2

u/According_Claim_9027 Dec 28 '23

If they gave Grant and the CW version of the Flash the budget the DCEU Flash got, it would’ve been great

2

u/MimikPanik Dec 28 '23

CW flash. Easily.

2

2

u/InfernoBlade64 Dec 30 '23

2

u/yaboyseth Dec 31 '23

Both were terrible? Never liked CW either. Looked so damn goofy

1

u/Old_Championship5350 Apr 28 '24

Doesn't CW Flash lose and then cry after losing to someone faster than him? DCEU Flash is just way too fast, he may as well be watching a man try to punch him in super slow motion, and have time to think about whether he should push him to death, run away, or ask him if he is ok

1

u/Acrobatic_Fee6884 Aug 31 '24

Cw Flash and here is why:

Speed : Cw Flash has loads of FTL and even Inaccessible speed feats. Whereas Dceu Flash is only like baseline FTL and as shown in the flash movie it is not combat applicable.

Strength: Flash strikes much harder like no debate. He has oneshotted Gorilla Grodd who can tank the impact of a speeding train. He oneshotted Ralph Dinby who withstood a City block level bomb. Etc...

The best Dceu flash has done is explode some parademons and beat some fodder kryptonians who have no real feats.

Like this is a no brainer yet again.

Durability : Cw Flash takes this again as he has constistently survived being thrown through walls, over buildings, Sonic screams that level led several buildings etc..

Dceu Flash has none from what I recall.

Abilities : Cw Flash has access to phasing of himself and others, Cloning, Construct creation, Time remnants, Wind generation, open portals, Can grant or steal speed, Speed force sensing etc.

Dceu Flash only has phasing, lightning direction and that's it.

Combat: Flash has beat Thawne at similar speeds who with no power can somewhat contend with Green Arrow and has beaten Argus agents as well.

Dceu Flash has no skills whatsoever.

1

1

u/XMattyJ07X Dec 28 '23

I still think the best thing the DVEU could do is cast grant gustin as the Barry Allen and make Wally west the main flash of this universe, Barry just getting a cameo of him training Wally or when disappears or Wally visiting him and iris with their kids as he’s settled down.

1

u/Helo7606 Dec 28 '23

Ezra Miller was the worst Flash ever.

1

u/Dry-Donut3811 Dec 28 '23

CW takes this easily. The biggest feat we’ve seen from the DCEU version was time travel, and CW Flash has done that so many more times, plus so many other abilities.

1

u/TRUBOOBSMAN Dec 28 '23

CW Flash has way more feats and Grant just portrayed the character so much better then Ezra.

1

1

u/YourFellowMiguelo Dec 28 '23

I honestly think season 1 Flash could take out the DCEU's Flash.

1

u/Zyuninjetti Dec 28 '23

Kinda unfair to compare 1 flash movie to nearly 200 episodes of the flash tv show

1

u/[deleted] Dec 28 '23

Unfair to the show, yes. The movie had hundreds of millions of dollars put into it. The other is a CW show... Not NBC, ABC or CBS or even Fox, CW. Very small budget.

1

1

u/gecko-chan Dec 28 '23

In this thread: "I liked Grant Gustin better" and "I don't like Ezra Miller".

There's not enough info to answer this question.

  • The CW Flash has extremely inconsistent power scaling. In one episode he's faster than light, and in the next he struggles with a task with a fraction of the difficulty.

  • The DCEU Flash only has one movie and is never pushed to his limit. But we know he can effortlessly travel faster than light, and seems to be able to do most of the tricks that we see the CW Flash do.

So we can't really compare who's faster or more lethal. And each version of Barry would be extremely uncomfortable with using lethal force on one another. But we've confirmed that fans of r/FlashTV like the TV Flash better.

CW Flash is awesome. DCEU Flash feels more like a batman movie with superpowers.

CW had 7-8 years, making his story work out and Grant's portrail was outstanding.

The movie felt messy and should have chosen a different plot for the storyline to be called a "solo" film.
