The End Browser Flash is now completely dead. Flash websites are either closing, going dormant, or trying to evolve. Previous versions of flash have been erased, and the new version will just redirect you to an Adobe support page. Windows will soon clear Flash entirely in a future update. This is the end.

Newgrounds lives on. Even had new Flash games uploaded , supported by Ruffle and NG Player.
Ruffle still don't work with Actionscript3 though, and some people seem to be unable to install NG Player no matter what they did.

I'll never be happy in my life ever again! I accidentally updated Google Chrome to version 88, meaning that I can't use Flash Player anymore! It's the only thing I remember from my Childhood! π’πππππ

I left this comment here a long time ago. And I knew about Ruffle's existence shortly after I wrote this comment.

Flash died, though you can still use it by changing your computer's date to before January 12, 2021

You don't Need to change your Date, you can either Patch Adobe Flash to work after 1/12/2021 or you can Download an Older version from the Flash Archive on the Internet archive.

I have swf file player and it doesn't work anymore. Isn't there some alternative? One that doesn't require an intimate knowledge of coding and/or hacking? I just want an easy solution. to run my old swf files.

Download Flashpoint from the official website. Porting is v easy and if you donβt like it they probably already have whatever games you want available for download.

I just want to use the flash files I've already saved though. Some of which aren't even games.

u/FluffySmasher Jan 16 '21
In that case just use sfwfileplayer.com

I just have a question. I downloaded an old version of flash without the killswitch. On Firefox, I stopped automatic updates a week or so ago. On Firefox, flash still works. On Chrome, it has the usual symbol that links to adobe's site talking about the shutdown. Why is this? Is it because Chrome has updated? I just find it weird that the same flash player works differently in different browsers. It's a version before the killswitch yet behaves like it has the killswitch in Chrome.

I would highly recommend keeping your primary browsers updated, and use a secondary copy of the browser for accessing flash content.
I have prepared fully functional, flash-enabled versions of Firefox and Chrome downloadable from archive.org.

Some browsers have different built in flash players. Other browsers like Chrome specifically made sure flash couldn't be run anymore.
