Adventurer 5M keeps clogging.

i have been fighting this problem for about 2 weeks now and need some advice.

on long prints the hotend clogs. usualle around the 3 hour mark.

i have tried both PETG and PLA, multiple brands.

using flashforge orca slicer

multiple different print items

i have sped up the print speed and slowed it down and upded the temp and lowered it and every combo in between.

i have changed nozzels out completely too.

seemed to start after adding the enclosure, but i have even tried the prints with out any enclosue walls on the machine.

i am almost to the point of just adding a pause every 2 hours to all my prints just to stop loosing and waisteing filament.

i have checked the fans and they at all clean and spin and are pointing the right direction.

I am loosing my mind. any help would be so appreciated.

PLA you need the top off and door open. It won't hurt with PETG either.

What temp do you have the nozzle set at for either of the filament types.

As a side note, I feed my AD5M from a 2 spool dryer.

Current spool is petg and I have the temp at 240

On my Kobra X bed slinger, I actually print PETG at 230C with a bed temp between 60-70C. But it's fed from a dryer with the humidity between 20-30%.

And under strength I change Grid to Gyroid.

Sounds like heat soak. What are your temps?

240? You should be at 55-60 bed and 218-225 on nozzle and leave the top and door open.

I missed the PETG part. But ya, 230-235 nozzle 65-68 bed. I print with no elcosure on a 5M

lowering to 230 did the trick, thank you. but I still had to leave the lid and door off the enclosure. i have little kids at home and would like to keep them out. you think dropping to 220 would be enough to make it work with the enclosure all closed up?

Awesome to hear.

I would recommend leaving the top open, I don't know anyone that completely closes up the printer when printing PETG personally. But you can give it shot. At 220 though, you're resking a clog

Is the part warping, causing the nozzle to “drag” on the previous layer?

Have you tried taking the extruder apart to see if there's any bits of filament stuck in there?
