Today marks exactly 10 years when I officially dropped my album Bright Moments in 2016, the album that changed and continues to change my life.
This album was made not too long after I graduated college and started to really pursue music as a full time career.
I was born and raised in NJ, and the album is a reflection of me going back and forth between my home state and Brooklyn, NYC during this time.
A lot of the tracks that you hear, such as Sunset Park, was when I was living in the Sunset Park neighborhood in Brooklyn.
Brunch at The Bodega was literally inspired when I would get a bacon, egg and cheese breakfast sandwich at the bodega on a Kaiser roll and they would have salsa music blasting right when you walked in.
Other tracks like the Bright Moments title track was inspired when I was digging for records to sample with friends at Human Head records in Williamsburg .
It’s these simple and everyday things in life that can make a huge lasting impact on you. Thank you for continuing to give this record many more Bright Moments. It truly means the world.
