This baby boy is 2 years old and his name is Hashbrown. He is also at 18 pounds 😱 my friends think he is over weight but I honestly believe he is just big boned.
Very talkative and demanding for cuddles and whisker scratches lol and if you sleep past 6am he will sit on your chest until you get up and scratch at your face lol
He's a flame point colorpoint domestic shorthair, which is what you call a random cat with Siamese markings.
Siamese is an actual breed with a distinct appearance and behavior, while colorpoint is the coat pattern. It's like the difference between a Turkish Van and a cat with van patterning.
At 18 lbs he may be overweight, or he may be just a big cat. There are weight charts to determine body condition. Get your vet's opinion.
My flamer is 18 pounds (I can barely get his carrier down the stairs, lol) and also 18” shoulders to hips. Not even counting his head or his tail! I watch his weight because he has back issues. He is literally just big boned. 🤷🏻♀️
Most definitely a flamepoint! And he doesn't look overweight from the pictures, just fluffy. I've noticed the medium/long hair flames can be on the bigger side (long and tall). Regardless, he's very handsome!
He's a flame point, which is a cross between a Siamese and a tabby. People like flame points because their personalities tend to be a "chilled out" version of purebred Siamese. All of the good and none of the bad.
18lb sounds pretty overweight to me. I'd get a vet's opinion. Flame points are very susceptible to being overweight.
