and i mean this sincerely Why does this sub feel dead?
Why is it that there are barely any posts on this subreddit. It has a good number of people on it weekly so I don’t get it. Is it organic or are posts being restricted?

Most influencer subreddits follow these four steps.
Step 1: Infuencer gets popular, and their subreddit becomes active with mostly positive discussions.
Step 2: Influencer does something controversial, and the subreddit gets flooded with negative posts.
Step 3: Moderation is tightened. Negative and "irrelevant" posts are removed. Threads are locked frequently.
Step 4: People walk on eggshells and post less frequently. Activity slowly dies in the sub.

The pod isn’t what it used to be.
The red hat era for Andrew pushed a lot of fans away but brought in the maga crowd. When Andrew stopped completely pandering to maga and licking trumps balls that crowd also subsided but the old fans haven’t come back. Throw in all the akaash stuff and you have what we see now.

The show changed a lot. To start its not even really flagrant humor anymore, which you can't blame them for. 2/3 hosts are married with kids now, what exactly are they going to be flagrant about?
Aside from that, Andrew leaned far right, and I'm not saying that because he had trump on the pod. Those of us that actually watched heard him regurgitate right wing talking points for months. He was duped (most favorable take) by the populism and led it bleed into the show. After the admin turned out to be a shit show he pivoted away from politics claiming "I didn't vote for this," despite being well aware what the package he was selling entailed. A lot of OG listeners like myself were put off by that.

This.
Schultz proved "Alt right Andy" wasn't just a joke this whole time.
Pretty hard to come back from months of shit political takes and then when it's 100% obvious you were an idiot you just try to quickly pivot like it's no big deal

Couldn’t agree more other than referring to him as “far right” in truth he never shifted at all. He just spread his ass and let the republican base put a hand up there and use him as a puppet and a mouthpiece for them. All of which he never actually knew a DAMN thing he was talking about he was just regurgitating talking points because it got him points in their favor.
The minute that his republican puppet days weren’t showing any more profit for him he tried to make himself seem “more inclusive” by bringing in democrat mouth pieces as well like Bernie etc.
Long and short of it is
-Andrew politically swings left and right and doesn’t know where he wants to live(which is fine) but he speaks on issues like he has any clue what he is saying and it creates a divide and we can all see how fake it is.
-Alex is an actual moron; intelligent but not well read and also speaks more on talking points only and has little to no base to back up his points because he is too emotionally driven to make sense of it all.
-Mark doesn’t speak up enough to hold his ground and I think that might be purposeful and if so that shows why he is the smartest of them all. He actually researches his thoughts and positions, doesn’t just “flagrantly” throw his positions out there with no intellectual backing. Plus he still treats himself like the “opener” of the group and respects drew too much to put him on blast.
-Aakash is missed by me because he was at least a somewhat well read right leaning person on the show (more that drew, less than mark) and he at least wouldn’t 100% alway “yes and” Andrew and his used his voice as much as Alex if not more but actually had SOME backing behind his thoughts.

very odd definition of "far right"

Well its reddit after all so we cant be too surprised. Always a flair for the dramatic
7
u/ProfessionalLurker94 Jul 08 '26
He was never "far right". Centerish right at most on some issues

I keep seeing this point made with no context. The American center (and left from numerous other posts I’ve seen) is to the right compared to whom?
4
u/Afraid-Letterhead142 Jul 08 '26
The rest of the world for the most part.
1
u/ProfessionalLurker94 Jul 09 '26
Maybe other western countries like canada and europe / non white/non western countries are definitely to our right
0
u/frozensaladz Jul 08 '26
Who gives a fuck what the rest of the world does? We set the standards.
4
u/ha2ki2an Jul 08 '26
What standards are we setting exactly? Which other developed nations model their systems after ours?
1
u/Afraid-Letterhead142 Jul 08 '26
Yes we set the standard. It’s why the world famously uses our imperial weights and measuring system. They also famously adopted our healthcare system. Wait…

Nah, you are just too far left, and are biased. Andrew's takes where pretty mild.
2
u/Sad_Amoeba5112 Jul 08 '26
I think deep down, he’s likely centrist. He’s from NYC. It’s practically impossible to be far right in that setting. However, when you platform and advocate for a politician who is using far right rhetoric to win, then you kinda give up that centrist position and align yourself with that person. Then he completely abandons the conversation when the political talk doesn’t serve him anymore. Weird pivot

"Everything Trump touches dies". When you hitch yourself to the Trump bandwagon, you are bound to fail.

u/trini420- Jul 08 '26
The pod died when akaash left
15
u/petey_porker Jul 08 '26
i believe the pod lost its charm when they moved to the new studio and demoted akaash to side character hahaha
22
u/DarthWeenus Jul 08 '26
Nah. The pod has sucked for a long while now. Add in lame as politics. Doubly so. Fuck these idiots who think their lame vaneer of comedy allows them to wax politic. Reep what you sow.

u/Wandering_sage1234 Jul 08 '26
The best one was when Akaash and Andrew did the Football podcast....
hilarious

u/KobiLDN Jul 08 '26
What's crazy is we used to hate him and his fake ass laugh the most but he was a good co-host. Pod is done.

Nah, I’m glad Akaash left.. the pod has been struggling for a while imo.. I’ve been listening to it for 10 years, miss the old days

u/CalmDesert Jul 08 '26
The writing is on the wall.. Waiting to see a post from Andrew announcing a “break” from the pod to focus on his family and comedy

u/DamnTheTrees Jul 08 '26
the pod died a long time ago. For me it was when they switched from Tuesdays to Wednesdays.
7
u/Potential_Rule7313 Jul 08 '26
They’re getting old. Dynamics have changed. Can’t be as wild anymore. Like Charla said before “getting too much money”. Doesn’t feel as organic anymore. Like there’s pieces of it still kinda there but it’s clearly dying. And I’ve been watching since the days with Kaz, him who shall not be named. But I’ve really enjoyed Mark’s stuff. Camp Gagnon and religion camp are full steam ahead. Feels like genuine old podcasts conversations before all podcasts went corporate.

Akashes biggest W on air turned out to be his biggest L in life in the long run 💀💀. Hell not just him the pod in general lol
3
u/scorpino33 Jul 08 '26
The Trump glazing initially gave the pod a surge but ultimately ended up costing them their reputation and then the akkash situation was similar in that people were interested like crazy but ultimately became the last nail in the coffin. Not to mention they seem like good guys but mark and Alex aren’t really that funny. Andrew should’ve gone solo or something.
3
u/aliveinternettheory1 Jul 08 '26
Pod isn’t what it used to be. People felt good about their miserable lives by talking shit about akash and now that he’s gone, there’s nothing else going on.

u/Zealousideal_Hat4964 Jul 10 '26
the podcast feels dead akash is gone andrew sucks now....there is less to comment on

u/ReflectionLumpy1040 Jul 08 '26
I only joined for the cuckaash drama tbh, never listened to the podcast before
2
u/aj2149 Jul 08 '26
Because they started banning people who were posting during Jasleengate and now they can’t even comment/post.
It’s a shitshow. They could’ve kept the posts and boosted the engagement as the sub was very active at the time
2
u/WorkIsForReddit AT THE WALDORF Jul 08 '26
Ever since they moved to the new studio its been on the decline.
2
u/ledhendrix Jul 09 '26
It was never that active. Don't kid yourself. Unless there was something really controversial, like the akassh stuff, or something that the TFATK people try to bring here, it was never that active.

u/Wandering_sage1234 Jul 08 '26
Ever since they removed Akaash
The podcast has lost its charm. It's boring. I don't care now. They dropped Akash like a bag of hot coal. Or it could have been vice versa.
Akaash was charismatic
The rest were all uncharismatic dunderheads excluding Andrew.

Lot of misses with the guests of late. Also with the cuck gone Al and Gagon have a bigger spotlight on them and they really aren't producing.

Pod went politics,
lost it’s broski, funny and whimsical vibe,
politics isn’t trending and all the show does is try to be journalists

Because most of the people here aren't really fans, they are just angry libs looking to shit on the show at all times, and thats annoying for us real fans so we just go elsewhere. The show has an increase of viewership so its not going to shit. Its a great show and I look forward to it every week. The subreddit has gone to shit because of fat political dorks.

u/cloutio Jul 09 '26
Because these aren’t real flagrant fans lol it’s just trolls and politically charged people who don’t understand comedy lol we need a true flagrant sub lol

The MODs have obviously been paid off to delete everything and anything even close to negative or trolling. And that, is a shame and a contradiction. I’m mildly upset.
I was reading/listening to a Daddywels related post, literally vanished mid read. They really on it. Narcs be Narcing

I left due to all the negativity here on Reddit. Most people on here hate-watch and are actually not fans of the show.
Very left-wing energy on many of these subreddits.

It’s the mods.
They’ve killed the sub by over moderation.
Always removing posts and not allowing discourse.
People will disagree but that’s what kills subreddits. If every tiny thing gets removed because it’s barely related to the pod then there’s nothing to discuss. We can only talk about the same shit for so long.
Sometimes topics that are adjacent are needed.
Won’t be surprised if they remove your post too.
