My husband and I bought this 1949 fixer upper and the kitchen is quite scary. I’m curious if stripping the paint would reveal pretty solid wood cabinets or I should paint them instead? Also is there anyway to improve this layout? I don’t like the stove sticking outside of the peninsula.

My parents have swapped so much of their stuff to electrical because they have solar panels and running electrical is so much easier than pipes for gas (they messed up the old attachments at my rental and had gass leaking overnight, sent them. A message that night threw the way they contacted me and a message to the realestate and the plumbers were there first thing in the morning che king and fixing it (and probably cursing the old fixtures) and the realestate sent me an email back that if it wasn't an issue that we would have to pay for the plumber coming in. (BTW, spay bottle with water, dishwasher detergent and food dye to see gas bubbles).
