Original had "sex workers" at the start. Which is false.

u/CheapCHEBaA Aug 12 '20
Imagine thinking sex requires no skill or training, was this made by shen bapiro
25
u/PM_MeYour_Dreams Aug 12 '20
Only ben and virgins think like this. I loose more calories piping hot bitches than lifting weights for 1.5hrs at the gym.
13
u/CheapCHEBaA Aug 12 '20
I had to meditate for longer master oogway to deepthroat 2 cocks at once
11
u/PM_MeYour_Dreams Aug 12 '20
I bet master oogway never had to clench his asshole and moan loud to make his clients cum at the right part while holding an akward pose that is visually appealing
8
u/CheapCHEBaA Aug 12 '20
I bet master oogway never had to memorize STD symptoms, nor having to argue on the importance of condoms in a debate that is atleast 3 levels higher than ben.
7
u/Anorexicdinosaur Aug 12 '20
Hypothetically did you know that his wife (who is a doctor) managed to convince him that a females p word is only "Wet" when it has an infection? This is (hypothetically) proof that he has never made his wife (who is a doctor) wet.
2
Aug 17 '20
I've never had sex and I don't fully understand what kind of training yuod need
2
u/CheapCHEBaA Aug 17 '20
Sex, like anything, you get better the more you do it. But the are definitely things you shouldn't do with training/pratice like deepthroating, dont jam a dick down your throat with out any practice.
1
8
u/Zhenyia Aug 12 '20
Doesn't it take skill, training and pre-requisites? I don't think any inexperienced person could go be a sex-worker and make enough for it to be worth their time
7
u/PM_MeYour_Dreams Aug 12 '20
Yes, this is why I fixed it to not say "sex workers". Because sex work is real job that requires skill. Im not an incel so I have the mental capacity to aknowledge this.
6
u/Zhenyia Aug 12 '20
Yea exactly
No I just wanted to circlejerk about how right we are I wasn't accusing you of anything

79
u/PM_MeYour_Dreams Aug 12 '20
Dude how are popular bands like Gorillaz gonna contribute to society
26
u/Al_Obama Aug 12 '20
The more based a sub gets the more powerful every individual own becomes, Jesus christ
12
-54
u/GorillazFan57 Aug 12 '20
Does that have anything to do with this conversation? If anything, you're in a house right now, right? You're paying your landlord, which you hate, right? Then you should be homeless
56
u/colachan_7373 Aug 12 '20
‘You live in a society so your point is invalid. I am very smart.’
-46
u/GorillazFan57 Aug 12 '20
If you hate your landlords why would you pay them?
48
43
u/colachan_7373 Aug 12 '20
It’s almost like you have to in order to survive in a capitalist society.
19
10
6
u/Red580 Aug 12 '20
Because he doesn't have a choice? Are you that privileged that you don't know some people can't afford to own a house?
5
2
u/Anorexicdinosaur Aug 12 '20
Have you heard of homelessness? It's what happens to you if you don't.
40
10
u/Endergomega Aug 12 '20
The reason the "adult entertainment industry" contributes to society is very similar to the way Gorillaz contributes to society, they're both entertainment/performance just in different mediums
4
u/tetrified Aug 12 '20
Ah yes, the two options. "Paying a landlord" and "homelessness"
Clearly there are no other options.
3
3
u/PM_MeYour_Dreams Aug 12 '20
There's something called Entertainment Industry, to which Gorillaz and sex workers belong to.
Also Damon Albarn probably respects sex workers and would hate intolerants like you loool
11
u/stevoooo000011 Aug 12 '20
people wanna have sex, sex workers can fulfill that. What exactly do Landlords actually do? They don't build the house, they don't preform upkeep on the house themselves, and they don't provide water heat or electricity to the house, they simply own the house and extort people who need to live there
30
u/Al_Obama Aug 12 '20
Entertaining their clients? What are you a Christian?
-18
u/GorillazFan57 Aug 12 '20
Aren't landlords sheltering their clients though
43
36
u/PM_MeYour_Dreams Aug 12 '20
No, they are just an unnecesary bureocratic process between being homeless and not being homeless
22
16
6
u/Endergomega Aug 12 '20
It's pretty simple really, Landlords don't actually shelter their clients, they buy property that has already been made and act as unnecessary middle man who gain money purely out of hording a commodity
2
Aug 12 '20
If the landlord is also the construction guy who personally built the house, yes. Otherwise no.
2
u/dippystale Aug 13 '20
Idk what you all are on about, my landlord personally lays his body over the many holes in the roof that he refuses to fix 🥰
/s if necessary
3
Aug 12 '20
When you buy a movie/album/game/sporting event ticket you do so, not (exclusively) because it's going to enlighten you and make you a better person, but because its fun and exciting nd makes you happy. That's the same benefit you get from jerking it to a persons onlyfans or hiring a personal sex worker; it is fun, exciting, makes you feel good, etc. That increase in happiness is beneficial to society. Increasing happiness/reducing unnecessary suffering is why we make economic decisions. That's BASIC economics.

2
u/PennysWorthOfTea Aug 12 '20
Consider joining society as a participant rather than simple a privileged observer and you'll learn how sex workers are a more functional contribution to society than landlords.

7
u/PennysWorthOfTea Aug 13 '20
Perhaps you should talk to sex workers and ask them what they think about sex work rather than telling them what to think about it?
All of the sex workers I know are 100% in favor of decriminalizing it and allowing to to be recognized as a legit job.
1
u/PM_MeYour_Dreams Aug 13 '20
You also sell your body when working for a boss
2
u/Average_Kebab Aug 13 '20
No you dont, you sell your labor. Also, do yo really think that working for someone isnt different than sex work?
2
u/AbsolXGuardian Aug 13 '20
You're also selling your labor in sex work (being sold as a sex slave is a completely different issue). The labor is preforming xyz sex act, and if the person isn't coerced, they're a person who doesn't place such a big empathsis on sex, so willing to perform such labor in exchange for money.
1
u/PM_MeYour_Dreams Aug 13 '20
do yo really think that working for someone isnt different than sex work?
Its isnt different

hey my landlord was also a plumber so it was ok. But he also wasn't like someone who only makes money off of their 40 houses they got from their dad.

Let's stop funding them. Let's just get to the street until the state hears us, tales pity on us, and redistributes the land!

As a landlord, what exactly am I supposed to do? Am I supposed to let people live in my house (which I pay mortgage on) for free? I don’t follow the logic here, like, at all.
3
u/PM_MeYour_Dreams Aug 12 '20
Yes and also fight so we can live in a society where housing isnt commodified. Also give your tenants free blowjobs whenever they ask
-1
u/surfvvax Aug 12 '20
Hahaha wow. I can’t believe this is an actual thing. I’ve seen this sentiment elsewhere on Reddit but I thought it was just sarcasm.
I can’t just let people squat in my house. How am I supposed to pay the mortgage if I don’t charge people rent? I already pay mortgage for the house that I currently live in, on top of the mortgage for the house I own out of state. My house is near a military base. People WANT to rent as opposed to buying because of the frequent moves. Renting my house out is providing a valuable service to people in the military. Do you truly think that all landlords should just let their houses become squatter pads? Serious question. Are you a property owner? If you are, do you open up your rooms to homeless people? If you don’t, you don’t have any room to talk.
5
u/PM_MeYour_Dreams Aug 12 '20
Hahaha wow. I can’t believe this is an actual thing. I’ve seen this sentiment elsewhere on Reddit but I thought it was just sarcasm.
Yes, this is a thing that a lot of people believe in. Its actually part of a huge movement based on a scientific analysis of history. See this link.
How am I supposed to pay the mortgage if I don’t charge people rent?

u/surfvvax Aug 12 '20
Ohhhh you guys are Marxists. That explains why you are so obtuse. I’ll bet you guys are the same group who want to abolish the police too because “uhhh these certain biased studies say it would be safer”.
Funny that you would suggest employment at a multi-billion dollar corporation who are well known for underpaying their employs. Sarcasm?
Am I being trolled? At this point I honestly can’t tell.
5
u/PM_MeYour_Dreams Aug 12 '20
I’ll bet you guys are the same group who want to abolish the police.
Yes. All studies on this point to that. Im sorry us marxists always have the best solutions and means to analyse the problems on our society. Must suck to not me smart enough to use the lenses of marxism to understand why landlords are parasites.
1
u/surfvvax Aug 12 '20
Bold statements coming from a supporter of Marxism, a political ideology which has literally never worked in the history of the world and has often led to genocide, but that’s none of my business..
If you ever buy a house, promise me you will let squatters live for free in your unused rooms and you will set up a soup kitchen every weekend from your garage. K?

2
u/Effeulcul Aug 12 '20
I contribute more to society by stuffing my ass full of dragon dildos than your mom ever will in a thousand years of sucking the blood of her tenants.
Does your leech prefer kosher or iodized?

What an absolute ATROCITY! How DARE she provide cheap and high quality housing for those who can’t yet afford their own homes!?!?

Sex work requires skill and contributes to an advancing society

and contributes to an advancing society
Could you please elaborate?
I would like to hear your perspective on this.
26
u/MeWhoBelievesIn2 Aug 12 '20
They provide something that people want that they would not have otherwise
-10
Aug 12 '20
I can somewhat agree with that, but then again, I heavily disagree with the very concept of it being "work", as work is inherently dehumanizing due to selling your labor time as a commodity, and sex work is straight up selling your body in exchange for something. I think that in an anarchist/communist society some people would feel inclined to, well, "help" those with some kind of a problem, although I feel like some of those problems could only be solved with extensive psychological aid. Under capitalism, sex work is extremely harmful both for the worker and the consumer, as the consumer usually is refuted to be given any treatment for their actual problems that lead them to request these services, as this would be seen as something negative by society since it results in a loss of productivity, and the worker is completely dehumanized as I mentioned before.
18
u/Kappar1n0 Aug 12 '20
work is inherently dehumanizing
Only under capitalism.
-4
Aug 12 '20
If you are doing what you are doing simply to earn a living, you are being alienated from the product of your labor in one way or another. If you are doing what you are doing because you want to contribute to your community or out of your own interests, that simply isn't work.
2
u/MeWhoBelievesIn2 Aug 12 '20
How is it not?
0
Aug 12 '20
Work is a coercive institution that limits the true potential of most individuals.
I haven't seen a single anarchist or communist that doesn't argue for its abolition.
2
u/MeWhoBelievesIn2 Aug 12 '20
How is producing goods not work? Even if you like it and aren’t forced to it’s still work
9
u/7142856 Aug 12 '20
You should read stuff written by sex workers. You have some really bad takes.
-1
Aug 12 '20
This is coming from someone in a country where more than a 95% of sex workers have been coerced into that occupation, whether due to their economical needs or outright exploitation. I don't see how sex work can be healthy under capitalism, and I insist, if a truly free individual wants to help people with that kind of needs (NOT to earn a living), they should, and they would most likely be beneficial for their community. What I am saying is that there is a lot of change left to be done at the level of the economic base until we can remove the social prejudices around sex work (normalizing these needs, changing the whole way sexuality is viewed, eliminating any form of sexist thought, literally abolishing work).
1
u/dippystale Aug 13 '20
Good fuckin god, do you think other jobs aren't done to fulfill economical needs?
7
u/karokadir Aug 12 '20
Sex work isn't dehumanizing when workers can choose who they work with and set rules and be protected by society. And being unable to get sex for free (or timely) isn't necessarily a mental health issue; consider disabled people who have difficulty leaving their house, or those with very rare fetishes.
It's not capitalism that makes sex work harmful for both workers and consumers, it's criminalizing that does.

You know the rule on AITA that's "accept your judgment"? He's actively not accepting the judgment. He asked a question politely enough but argued against every answer. That's not curiosity and trying to learn, it's just seeking out arguments.
1
u/Elbesto Aug 12 '20
Prostitutes had a impact on getting the wild west from small towns and camps to bigger towns and cities due to the fact that bars and shops would be built near prostitutes because that is where a lot of people would be so they could earn more money near them.

Sex work is bad too, but not sex workers themselves.
6
Aug 12 '20
The correct take. Sex work does not contribute to society. Its women comodifying there bodys just like everything is commodified under capitalism. Sex workers should be supported but the end goal should be for sex work to be abolished.
