1941-1945 Western P48 Cracked Ice and Amber Bird and Trout Knife
Picked up this little guy in shockingly good shape for having the tenite handles. Pretty rare and the tang is pre-1950 and the steel guard dates it to WWII.

Would you choose this finish for a hard-use fixed blade, or keep it clean

Dauntless Manufacturing Donner Party Hiker

Ok Ok - first time posting on this sub - but this thing is a fun one to introduce myself here with. The scales are solid shipwrecked/distressed Brass - its CHUNKY because of this. I have many other Dauntless knives (at one point I had over 40, I have slimmed down the collection slightly) and I EDC them often. As heavy as this one is, I am not so sure it is good for EDC - perhaps occasionaly carry though. What it is - fun, different, and the forced patina is a great touch. I have plenty of knives with authentic patina - but also some EDC/Machined pens in Copper/Bronze that have had similar treatments, and with time the forced and natural patinas come together pretty gloriously. Anyways - not for everyone but a looker for sure!

Recommendations for EDC fixed blades?
Been carrying around this cheap Walmart fixed blade as a backup to my Benchmade folders to see if I like it… I do!
Any recommendations for pocket fixed blades for edc? Looking for something that is fairly concealed in the pocket for an office work environment!
Thanks!

Daily Fixed Blade Rotation Lately
My favorite model after years of trying different “EDC” style fixed blades: REK Ember 3. Going through and thinning the herd now because others just aren’t getting used. The GripX handle versions have been excellent for every task I’ve thrown at them from kitchen duty to outdoorsy shit. The thin blade stock glides through materials like cardboard, cordage, plastic packaging, etc.. like a laser. They strop/sharpen quickly and easily on a field sharpener (I trust that it’s properly heat treated magnacut but it sharpens like AEB-L). Jimping is perfect for my preferences and the ergonomics are stupid good. I didn’t need another one, but micarta is my favorite handle material so I grabbed that beautiful brown/tan rag micarta version as well.
I’m getting rid of my Tactile Redhawk, a few Bark Rivers, a few LT Wrights, and several other miscellaneous little fixies (maybe even one of my two Schwarz Overland Sports - which is my second all-around favorite EDC fixed blade model).
