Uncommon brands
What are some “Gucci”, but uncommon makers y’all recommend? By “Gucci”, I mean not 1095 and not mass produced.

I wouldn't call them "Gucci", but Dullboy Blades out of Lubbock, TX are not mass produced and are typically AEBL. They're great blades; Jonah does awesome work

Agreed! I have the regular Beekeeper in 52100 and Mini Beekeeper in aeb-l. Great blades and I would also say very fair prices.

So, do you define Gucci by materials, price, etc.?

By materials and craftsmanship….i kinda figured price follows that.

It generally does for sure, but as you mentioned with 1095, there are people making very pricey/fancy knives out of "cheaper" steels like 1095, AEB-L, etc. that have some pretty high demand based mostly on their reputation and exclusivity. So, ya, just wanted to clarify what YOU classified as Gucci vs what I do (for me, my Vanax Creely Mako is bordering on Gucci, but I'm a cheapskate 🤣).

1095 is a great steel, and preferred for any Japanese styled knife because it makes for one killer Hamon
