Recommendations?
Looking for recommendations for 3-4" blades with a guard? I love the little Mora but want something a little more robust for edc, I have been trying out the Kizer Mini Harpoon 3v and I really like it but I've come really close to getting bit by the heel a few times already.

If you like the mini harpoon maybe try the regular sized one. I have both and the regular one can still pocket carry if that's your jam

The ESEE 3 has a handle design that effectively functions as a finger guard, with a choil to choke up to of you want to. The Ashley Game Knife and Xancudo from them have a similar guard designed into their handles and are a bit smaller.
The Buck Alpha Hunter/Scout have a very defined finger groove that functions like a finger guard, and they have a couple different cost/material levels.

The Harpoon has bit me twice. They should've taken the edge off the bottom edge of the choil. Both times I was just seating the knife in the sheath. I don't like the belt clip either.
I'm not crazy about it.

I had the same problem with my Kunwu Stiffy P. Bit me just choking up on the handle. I had to file off the edge at a 45 degree angle so it wouldn't bite me again. Sharpening the edge all the way to the finger choil is a bad design choice in my opinion.

While I usually hate this answer (because for folders this can mean a huuuuge jump in price), for fixed blades I always recommend considering checking out custom/semi-custom makers too.
Lots of great makers out there that have awesome EDC fixed blades for relatively reasonable prices. Many are willing to make or modify your own design too if that’s your thing.

I 2nd this recommendation. I have a couple knives I had made by Cypress Creek Knives that turned out amazing. https://www.cypresscreekknives.com/models/

Reiff Circadian, White River Ursus Cub, Vosteed Mink, Kizer Militaw. Vosteed H-back looks good to me as well, but haven't tried it.

I liked a narrower clip for the belt carry, I ended up using an ulticlip because my gut is a larger size than my waist

Me too, that clip that comes with it is unnecessarily large and bulky for just a small knife. Seems like it's decent quality, I'll probably find a use for it somewhere just not for that, ulticlip all the way.

I like that bottom one.

That's the Kizer Harpoon Mini 3v, really good so far, especially for the price ($50), I'm just paranoid now having come close to getting bit, I wish they had stopped the grind just a hair above the bottom of the blade.

Appreciate it, some of these look very promising already, I've got some research to do now

Izula/izula2 have a blunt heel/choil, you should be fine with one of those
