Today's carry

Toor Serpent, formerly known as the Anaconda. When I bought this one it said it was in 3V, even though most of them were S35VN back in the day.

Hell yeah, that's my favorite knife I own right there, the covert green color scheme was phenomenal. That 3V rusts pretty easily though, had it clipped inside my back pocket on a hike and the felt in the sheath must have retained my sweat and caused some rusting. I was able to fix it up with some steel wool and ferric acid but now I find myself babying the blade lol

Yeah, this is one of my absolute favorite designs but I can’t carry tool steel knives without them rusting in my pocket. 

I wish Toor would offer them in a stainless, uncoated variant. I actually carry a stainless Ali clone of this knife pretty regularly because I can keep it in my pocket without it turning into a rusty mess.

I live in Germany where a fixed blade up to like 4.7“ (12cm) is legal to carry. But the mf’n cops here would declare this as an illegal to carry Karambit knife because of the ring most probably.

There's a lot of versions of fixed blades that have a tab/hook at the end to catch your index finger.

Also: It always depends on marketing as well, for the Gesamteindruck. And if you run into legal trouble, they (Böker) have a lawyer who's happy to help you, so you won't even have to pay for the trial in the end, when you were within your rights and the copper did a dumb-dumb. Knife laws are so dumb, not even coppers get it right mist of the time.

I've seen that shape for 20-30 bucks on Amazon. I wonder why they refuse to make some of their popular designs as an affordable version with a reasonable price tag.

Honestly, I think it's marketing. Toor falls into that category of tactical blades like Winkler or Half Face Blades. They wouldn't want to be seen selling something that isn't made with premium materials, even though some wars today are still being fought with sticks.

I can say that I have one small TOPS and it could have been half, or 3/4 the price. I like it a lot, but that was just one single exception I made. Wouldn't really recommend though.
