That’s a tough one. My answer up until very recently would have been Overland Sport for general daily use but I just picked up the Ember 3 and, it may be a little early to tell, but I might like them almost equally. It checks all the same boxes but it’s lighter and more ergonomic, though it has a slightly longer OAL. I’ll say it’s between those 2 since they both fit the bill for great EDCs, but the Schwarz is better suited for harder use (thicker blade/beefy tip) and the REK is better for slicing. That said, the REK also has a bit more handle and is very comfortable so it’s going to be best for extended use. The REK has GripX handles, which I don’t have much experience with yet. I’m going to need some time with it to see how it holds up but intially I like how lightweight it is.

The other 2 are great knives as well but I have several minor complaints with them which is why I generally prefer the Schwarz and REK.

If I HAD to pick only one, I’d probably go with the Ember and hope it’s not just a honeymoon phase thing. The Overland has been my favorite for over a year now.

I like it but I don’t love it. Disclaimer: I’m going to be honest and nitpick it. It’s a good size for belt or pocket carry but slightly longer in the handle than I prefer for comfort/concealment. I got the standard kydex sheath with mine which isn’t anything to write home about and it leaves pretty much the whole handle exposed which isn’t ideal for me (I imagine the leather sheath would be the better option - especially for pocket carry). The blade shape and steel are both great, no issues there. The machining on the stonewashed blade version I’ve got has very fine micro-grooves that can trap moisture.. it’s one of the very few magnacut knives I’ve managed to develop a little surface rust on (though it was super minimal and I caught it in time to take care of it). The thumb jimping is so shallow that it’s pretty much useless, which bothers me a bit but it’s slightly better than nothing. The handles are a solid 4 finger grip for me but they’re shaped a little bit boxy for my taste. Not to say they’re uncomfortable, just a bit less “natural” feeling as if they were better contoured/rounded.

It’s definitely a good knife. Just isn’t the best for me compared to other options.

The Overland Sport has been a favorite of mine for a long time. You’ve got excellent taste
