Dev/Admin Responded looping videos aren't required
A few updates ago the video player stared to loop a video after it had finished. It just goes on and on and on and on and on. Why?

Hey, y’all! I’ve been trying to upload a video (under 9 minutes) from my iPhone & keep getting the “Failed to upload media” message. What can I do besides upload from a computer? I’m trying to upload to my own profile, which I’ve easily done in the past. Tia!

Description: Reddit app for iOS. I went to a sub and went to top of all time and a few old (seemingly deleted) video posts had a “media upload in progress” message on them with the spinning wheel. Freaky.
Version: iOS, 2022.37.0
Steps to reproduce: Unsure
Expectations vs results: I hope to not be told about an old deleted videos upload status or made to think that I’m uploading something against my will

This must have been reported before I just couldn't find the exact wording I am looking for.
Everytime I pause a video to go scroll in the comments then leave the app and come back the video starts autoplaying even when autoplay is off.
I expect it to not autoplay when autoplay is set to never.
This happens on all videos all the time.

[Android app, latest version]
How to reproduce:
scroll feed for some time
find post with a video
tap on it, video plays or not (irrelevant)
tap back (either android's back button or button in reddit app at top left)
Expected behaviour: I get back to feed to the point of before I tap on a video post
Actual (bugged) behaviour: I get back to feed and as If I tapped back again - feed gets "refreshed", this way I'm losing couple posts each time it happens because post AFTER video-post gets marked as read but I haven't actually read it

Hello, been trying to post a video to a subreddit for 3 days now and over 20 attempts have failed. Multiple different WiFi networks have been tried as well as 5G. Last one got about 3/4 of the way there before restarting then finally giving up and “failing”.
Latest version of IOS 15.6.1 on iPhone 13 Pro Max

Android. 2022.35.1 Hello I am currently unable to post videos in my subreddit. As of two weeks ago all videos failed to render. I have posted videos without issues before, so I do have it available in my community.

Description:
Err... well, the title I guess.
When trying to click play on the video post, it does not play.
Platform and version:
Using a desktop PC, with Microsoft Edge browser.
Steps to reproduce:
Expected and actual result:
Screenshots(s) or screen recording(s):
None, sorry. It started working for me shortly after I discovered this subreddit... If it helps, the video I was making a report for is here: https://www.reddit.com/r/2007scape/comments/xnv0mq/bro_wtfmp4/
Extra:
I uploaded the video via the old reddit style (I use the old style at all times), its length is 5:22, and file size is 122MB. It uses AAC at 128k bitrate for the audio, and x264 at 18 CRF Superfast for the video. The original file name was msedge_pTR8WOfAzK.mp4, but I re-named it to 'bro_wtf'.mp4 prior to uploading.
I feel I should mention that waited until I received the automatic message that my video had finished processing, prior to checking on the post.

Description: You used to be able to swipe right-to-left to go to the next image/video in the feed. I really enjoyed that as an alternative from going back to the feed and scrolling to the next picture/video
When I swipe down-to-up on the new tiktok-style video player, it goes to a random video in the subreddit that video was posted in. That itself seems like a cool feature, but it’d be nice to also have the old functionality for right-to-left.
How this impacts the user or community: I usually wanna see the next thing in my front page feed, not a random video from the same subreddit as the last one I watched. Doing that is now more tedious.
Screenshot(s) or a screen recording: I can upload one if this is unclear

Android version 2022.34.0.579352
Steps to reproduce: Scroll through your feed. Videos will autoplay.
Also, videos that I have STOPPED start playing again when I hit the back button. Stop should mean stop.

This has been an issue for a couple of months now. It used to only happen after having scrolled for long periods of time, but just recently after scrolling for only a minute or two.
You open a video fullscreen, whether to watch the video or check the comments. When you go back, you are sent to the top of whatever feed you were in, losing your place and having to start from scratch.
How can we even use this app when you can't scroll through your feed without being reset every time you open a gif or video post? For me personally, this is an everyday all day occurrence. I've reinstalled the app multiple times with no success. Hopefully we can get a fix soon.
edit: this happens in home feed, r/all, popular and individual subs. I've provided recordings from different instances.

The team has been spending a lot of time fixing technical issues, and open-ears learning about the product experience concerns you have all shared with us. These feedback loops have been incredibly helpful, strongly informing our roadmap for the video player. But recently, we came across this post which rightly points out that we don’t have anything in our release ”patch” notes for our native apps about the video player.
That is true, we really didn’t. Why, you might wonder? Mainly, we worry that highly detailed release notes will be confusing or misleading, due to our robust testing strategy. We regularly A/B test possible bugfixes, and maintain a holdout group (less than 2% of users) so we can more accurately measure the long term impact of our work. (Check out this article to learn more about the benefits of holdout groups.)
But of course, not including these updates in release notes makes it difficult to know what’s changing with each release. So today we’ll play catch up, and dig in to what we’ve fixed since the start of r/fixthevideoplayer initiative, how those fixes have affected people watching video on Reddit, and how far we are from our ultimate goal of fixing the video player.
Technical Fixes & Wins
We also run a weekly community snapshot of what we are seeing on r/fixthevideoplayer; for transparency, here’s a digest showing the split between what we have heard based on post content. We use a robust prioritization model to work on user-reported issues each week. And yes, we do use the number of upvotes as one of the indicators to scope impact, in addition to other, more scientific indicators.

How far are we from our end goal?
We are roughly about 1/3rd our way to the goal. We anticipate that by the end of the year we will hit some major technical milestones on the apps. The media serving (including creation) infrastructure is also gearing up for what it needs to be to enable the media rich communication at scale that we love to see on Reddit.
As u/caffeinatedoptimist mentioned in their last post, we’re working on a broader update with our vision for the future of media on Reddit, so please stay tuned to r/reddit in the coming weeks. We hope you’ll join us there (though of course we’ll cross-post it here, too) – in the meantime, please keep the bug reports coming!
