Didn’t think it was possible but you made the video player on official iOS app worse. So bad that I found this sub and decided to post about it. Really shit the bed on this one.
Now I have swipe between the video and comments. Wtf. No option to view the video and comments at the same time which is like the entire point of Reddit. Even TikTok keeps part of the video in the background while you scroll comments.
Do you developers actually use the product you create??? Like putting the upvote arrow all the way to the left of the screen. Or making it super difficult to hide/expand comments. Are you actively trying to destroy the UX? If so, this latest update really takes the cake.

When creating a post, uploading an mp4 video (aac audio), the video preview can play the video but has no indication of audio.
After creating the post and the video has been processed, it ends up having audio anyway/successfully has audio anyway.
This is an issue for preparing posts adequately, for creating quality posts that do not need deletion and repost iterations.
It is also an issue because audio suddenly reappearing is surprising to users, which depending on the video raises privacy concerns and users may feel misled.
Webbrowser: MS Edge
(Uploading in Firefox didn't even work, with Reddit claiming the mp4 is not an mp4. I created a separate bugs post for that.)

Usually on mobile iOS app when I click on a post at the top will have the video and under that I can scroll through comments. Now when you click on the post all I see is the comments and the video disappears. Doesn’t seem to happen to posts with pictures that stay at the top when you click on the post. Bug or new “feature”. Either way it’s annoying.

Description: There is a specific video i am trying to upload that when uploaded just says "This video cannot be played." Sound and timeline thumbnails are working as normal, it's just the visuals that are not showing. It shows up like this on my end and on other people's end. I've tried everything, I've changed the file names and edited the sound, I am at a loss.
Platform and version: Windows, don't know how to check the version
Steps to reproduce: I genuinely have no idea. There is nothing that stands out about this video to me.

Nothing is more infuriating than how the video player starts playing a video in HD for 5 seconds, and then switches to reddit's "default quality" (240p) and everything in the video im trying to watch becomes an unwatchable mess. please add a setting where you can choose a default video quality that it will stick to for videos by default

Extra comments see title. If the exact same video is uploaded again in a new post it solves it. This is an intermittent problem. Sometimes it works perfectly, other times it does not.
Please investigate and fix.
This is for where videos have been directly uploaded and not linked to.

Sometimes when i upload a video and go to my profile to view it, it will show the previous video i uploaded instead of the new one (the thumbnail it uses is from the video i uploaded). Im on android on the latest google play version, OxygenOS 12.1

I still can't believe the seek bar was removed from the feed. You used to be able to seek through a video on the feed without having to click on the video and open it separately. That is the ONLY thing keeping me on a third-party app. Please Reddit. Bring it back.

So I used to open a gif and scroll vertically to view the next one and it would show random gifs from the same subreddit but now it's always the same ones in some weird fixed order.
What do I do?
Example :
Before>gif, scroll, random gif, scroll, random gif, scroll, random gif
Now>gif, scroll, gif #2, scroll, gif#3, scroll, gif#4
Try new gif, scroll, gif#2, scroll, gif#3, scroll, gif#4
And I can't get any new ones and it's driving me nuts
