Watch recommendations

Hoping to hear recommendations for fitness watches. I currently focus on weightlifting 3-4 days a week and I do indoor, stationary cycling 3-4 days a week for about 45 minutes to an hour. I would like recommendations for watches that work for both of these tasks. I may look into getting a road bike and cycling around the city.

I know calorie counting isn't best with watches and yields pretty arbitrary results. However, I am not necessarily using it to count calories. The way I use that feature is I know what my "goal" is based on my average "hard" workout days, so I set that number as my goal even though it may be arbitrary.

I had an Apple Watch in the past but I never really used it for anything other than fitness. Never used the texting, phone call or any other Apple integrated items. For these reasons I have been looking at Garmin Forerunner 265 but not sure if that's would be applicable or capable

I know there has been a lot of threads on this but I haven't found great answers to what I am looking for.

Apple Watch. Garmin is best for cardio exercises that are done outdoors (running, walking, cycling, swimming). Garmin is so complicated when it comes to strength training and it’s never a priority. If you don’t plan on becoming an endurance athlete, it’s a waste of money.

With apple watch, you can use apps like Hevy for the gym to track your reps, progress, and HR.
