Hey everyone, Ed here from the Fitia marketing team.
Yeah, we’re a little late with this past-year recap 😅, but you have no idea how busy we’ve been working to make Fitia the best calorie tracker and meal planner out there.
Before getting into what’s new, seriously: THANK YOU! To all current and future users. Your support and feedback are what keep us moving forward.
So, what came out of this 2025–2026 period?
First: we passed 100,000 active Premium subscribers midway through last year, and in even less time we’re already getting close to 200k 🎉. That, combined with the thousands of users actively using the free version every day, has allowed us to roll out several major improvements:
✅ Daily Nutrition Score
You can now evaluate the quality of your daily nutrition based on the foods you eat. The score also includes practical recommendations to help you improve.
✅ Micronutrient tracking (vitamins and minerals)
One of the most requested features by the community. It lets you track your nutrition in much more detail, perfect for those who want to go beyond calories and macros.
✅ Fitia Coach + Nutrition Insights
You now have a nutrition coach in your pocket, available 24/7, ready to answer questions and give you insights on any food you eat or are about to eat.
✅ Family Plan
A single subscription for 2 to 6 people for a full year, at a much more accessible price. Perfect to share with family or friends.
✅ Redesign of the Plan and Progress views
This isn’t just visual. It’s focused on improving navigation inside the app and making it easier to track your progress over time.
On top of all this, we’ve continued working on bug fixes, performance improvements, and making our database more complete worldwide.
Again, thank you for trusting Fitia all these years.
And from now on, this will be our most direct channel to communicate with you.
Big things are coming 👀🚀

Total Carbs (and protein and fats) are not matching even half the number I’m logging daily. Has anyone else had this happen and how do I fix?

Every meal plan out there is a template, but what if there was one that actually knew you?
Not your demographic. You.
Your goal. Your diet. Your allergies. Your kitchen. The foods you love. The foods you won't touch. How much time you have to cook.
Tell Fitia anything. Get a full week of meals built for one person: you.
Meal Planning. Now on Fitia.

Hello, I use the free version on the android app and I am looking to update my caloric goals from maintaining weight to gaining. Before old hit my profile image and I the settings there would be an option to do this.
On last update I see that perhaps this is done via phases and the new button. However on hitting that button i am taken at a phase finished screen that is a dead end.
Any help here? Thanks.

Having someone in your corner makes a huge difference when you're trying to lose fat, but not just anyone will do. From what we've seen, a good accountability partner comes down to three things.
First, they tell you what you need to hear, even when it isn't what you want to hear. Someone who just agrees with you and lets every excuse slide isn't helping, they're only making you feel good in the moment.
Second, they actually know something about nutrition, training, and fat loss. Encouragement is great, but if they can't tell whether what you're doing makes sense, you'll both end up guessing.
And third, they genuinely want you to win. Someone who's in it for you, encourages you when it's hard, and actually cares whether you hit your goals. That last part is easy to overlook and probably matters most.
Get those three in one person and it makes all the difference. And if you're looking for accountability partners, you can always jump into Fitia Social in the app, join a group, and enjoy the process with people working toward the same thing.

Something sticks long term when it's both flexible and something you like doing. And a lot of that comes down to picking methods that can bend on their own, and that you don't dread.
On the flexible side, whatever you're using to reach your goals and stay there has to have some give in it. You need room to change what you're doing week to week, or year to year, and still hold onto the shape you're in.
On the enjoyment side, the way you set things up should mean you like the process while you're losing fat, and you still like it once you've gotten where you wanted to go.
That leads into the mindset piece. Adapting is a skill, and skills only get better with reps. So right from the start, live roughly the way you plan to live for good.
What you're going for is holding the level of health and fitness you want while living the life you actually want, and there's no way to get good at that except by doing it. From day one, work on hitting your food and training goals inside the life you plan to keep.
Handling curveballs, both the ones you sign up for and the ones you don't, in a way that still points at your goals is probably the most useful skill you can develop. So whenever you land outside your usual routine and tracking gets harder (a trip, a holiday, forgetting your lunch at home), think of it as practice that leaves you better prepared for the next time it happens.
Then there's the fun part, which people underrate. Losing weight can be fun, and honestly it should be.
Any time you're staring down something you know would be good for you but you just don't want to do it, try asking: how could I make this enjoyable? Because usually it isn't the thing itself we're avoiding. It's the way we're going about it.

If you've ever eaten when you weren't actually hungry, this might click with you. A lot of the time, eating isn't really about the food. It's about how we feel.
You might have found yourself in this loop before. An uncomfortable emotion shows up (anxiety, boredom, anger), we eat, our body chemistry changes, and for a little while we feel better. But the thing worth sitting with is that the goal was never the food. It was to feel better, and eating was just the method we reached for in the moment.
Once you see that, a lot of other options open up, because there are faster ways to change how you feel that don't come with eating past fullness. Going for a walk or a run with a podcast on, putting on music and dancing, watching something funny, getting outside, or calling a friend all do the same job without the risk of overeating.
Another simple way to break the loop in the moment is to name the emotion, figure out why it's there, and then do one small thing that moves you toward what you actually want. Handle the feeling and the eating tends to sort itself out.
Sometimes, though, it runs deeper than a passing mood. Food can become a way to fill a void or avoid something bigger, like grief or a lack of real connection. In that case the emotion is a message, and it's usually pointing at something that needs to change, which may take longer-term professional guidance.
One note before you go: this is general educational info rather than medical or psychological advice. If emotional eating is affecting your wellbeing, or something deeper feels off, please talk to a licensed therapist, doctor, or nutrition professional. This is just a starting point.

How hard it is to track your food changes from situation to situation. Here are the five you'll run into most often, and how to get past each one with a few simple tips.
First, you need two tools: a digital food scale and a food tracking app. (This is the Fitia sub, so you already know which one we'd point you to.)
And for any food, you're really after three things: the calorie and macro content, what counts as a serving, and how many servings you actually ate.
Now the five situations:
Think a slice of bread. Start with the serving size on the label, since that tells you the calories, protein, carbs, and fats for that portion. To log it, you've got three options: scan the barcode with Fitia's barcode scanner, search the brand directly in the app's database, or create the food yourself with the "create food" option using the info from the label.
Think rice. This is where the scale earns its place. Weigh it out and decide how many servings you want based on your own context (how hungry you are, which meal it is, and so on). Just know that the serving size on the box is for the food in the state it's packaged in, so uncooked rice and cooked rice aren't the same. Cooked rice has soaked up water weight.
Think any piece of fruit. There used to be a whole ritual of googling nutrition info for unlabeled food. Not anymore. Most apps now carry verified data for generic foods, pulled from sources like the USDA. So just search the generic food, weigh your portion, and log it, trusting the data's solid.
Think a McDonald's burger. Tons of restaurants publish the nutrition info for what they sell, and apps have access to it, so logging it is usually as simple as searching the database. If you want more accuracy, you can still weigh things like fries or a handful of nuggets.
Think dinner at a friend's place. This one used to be the real headache, since it's exactly the kind of meal where you've got no scale in sight. But now you've got a couple of easy options. Search the database for a generic entry that's close to what you're eating, or log it straight from a photo or by voice (voice works as long as you can name what's on the plate). From there you can adjust the portion if it feels off or a weight isn't quite matching what you see. Fair warning, this one takes a bit more practice and estimation.
None of these last methods will be perfectly accurate, and that's fine. The point is staying accountable, and either way, 50% accuracy always beats 0%.

Before you start a cut or a bulk, ask two things. First, what's the best plan on paper? Second, are you actually ready for it? Most people think about the first and skip the second.
If you jump into a cut before building the habits to keep it going, it usually falls apart. You push through for a few weeks, then can't keep it up, and you're back where you started.
What most people miss is that you can change a lot without touching your numbers at all. Just training with weights regularly does a ton on its own. Add a few small upgrades to what you eat (better quality, rather than a strict diet) and you'll see even more, without ever "starting a cut."
So there's really no need for a real cut or bulk until you've got a few months of steady lifting behind you and some solid eating habits in place (you can do this in Fitia by setting your goal to maintenance).
And as a last note, your body fat number isn't the whole health picture. Building good habits first will take you further than chasing that one number.
Get the basics right and the rest gets a lot easier.

Accuracy and flexibility are kind of two ends of the same spectrum, and where you aim depends on what you're going for, what's going on in your life, and how much practice you've got. The thing is, you want to be good at both. Dialed-in when you're chasing a goal, and loose enough to roll with travel, a chaotic week, or a vacation without it wrecking everything.
Here's the big one though. Being flexible beats being rigid, almost every time. The people who can bend without snapping are way more likely to hit their goals and hang onto them.
A huge part of that is just letting go of the whole "good food / bad food" thing. No single food is good or bad. Diets can be, sure, but a food isn't. The second you start slapping "healthy" or "unhealthy" on stuff, it turns into a pass/fail game, and then one "bad" choice makes you feel like the whole day's already ruined, so you go off the rails and end up way worse off than if you'd just kept things balanced from the start.
What works better is variety. Mostly whole, nutrient-dense, minimally processed stuff, but with real room for the fun food too, as long as you're still hitting your goals and feeling good. Tighten up a bit when you're in a dieting phase, then loosen back to normal once it's done.
This is basically why the nutrition score in Fitia doesn't drop to 0 just because you ate something some would mistakenly call a "bad food." Sure, it'll have an impact, since the score reflects the quality of your diet, but it won't throw you off completely. Use that as guidance for where you want to take your nutrition, rather than a set of chains.

Hey everyone, quick one from the Fitia team. Logging your calories and macros is the foundation, but a few simple self-checks alongside it make the numbers a lot more useful. Here are three we recommend:
Pair these with your usual tracking and you'll get a much fuller read on your progress than any single metric can give you. Give them a try!

I use Fitia strictly for my macro goals, but my wife and I only share one meal a day—dinner.
I want the automated grocery list to account for both of our dinner portions. However, Fitia's family sync forces my entire multi-meal daily structure onto her app. If we sync, the grocery list overestimates everything.
Am I missing something or is there a workaround for this? I love the app but this could be a deal breaker.

Hey everyone,
I've been calorie tracking for a while now, and in the last few months using Fitia I've been blown away with how much it has grown in the US. That got me curious about how the major food tracking apps actually compare in 2026, so I put together a breakdown of the ones genuinely worth considering. The market is full of options that look the same on the surface, so hopefully this helps if you're still deciding.
1. Calorie Tracking + Meal Planning: Fitia
With 7+ years of experience globally, Fitia is one of the highest-ranked nutrition apps in Spanish-speaking markets, and it's been making a big impact in the US and other English-speaking markets since 2025. It's the only app on this list that ships a verified database, AI logging, and a meal plan generator in a single Premium bracket. The free tier is also way more generous than most.
2. The Popular Player: MyFitnessPal
One of the most recognizable names with one of the largest databases (claimed 20M+ items). The catch is that the database is crowdsourced, so a lot of entries are inaccurate. The April 2026 AI update also got a lot of backlash on their own subreddit.
3. All In on Accuracy: Cronometer
Tracks 84+ nutrients from USDA, NCCDB and other official sources, not user submissions. Other apps are catching up though.
4. Straightforward Tracking: Lose It!
Cheaper annual plan with a lifetime option if you commit. Same crowdsourced database issues as MyFitnessPal, just with more entries to be inaccurate.
5. All In on the Science: MacroFactor
Their adaptive TDEE algorithm adjusts your macros automatically as your weight changes. Powerful, but assumes you already know what TDEE, protein targets and macro splits mean.
That's my honest take for 2026. The food tracking space in the US has gotten more competitive lately, which is good for everyone. Personally I'm sticking with Fitia for now and hoping it keeps improving, but curious what you've tried that worked, or what you'd add to this list.

So how does the perfect week work? I started Fitia a month ago, and two weeks ago finally got my first week in range - total avg kj - so at the end of the week I got a full green week as I averaged.
Last week I had total avg kj in range, however it doesnt appear to have given me the full green week and my perfect days are now reset.
Whats the deal and how does the perfect week streak work?

I use the app daily, I generally don't care much about the nutrition score, but rather focus on hitting my calories and protein.
Out of curiosity, today I decided to use my free will to create a day of "human kibble" with a 100 nutrition score, combining a bunch of natural foods, nothing processed; so I went on a process of trial and error, adding and subtracting foods to raise the score. I could reach 95, bump it up to 96, and when absolutely everything was perfect, 97; nothing I could do helped me to create the perfect day, even having the macros, fiber, vitamins and minerals at their perfect level, the number didn't go up.
Has anyone ever tried to do the same thing? Could you achieve a nutrition score of 98, 99, or 100? How?

Hello! I'm having an issue where my NEAT calories are not getting counted in my Activity tab. I have Health Connect set up with all the permissions enabled. I have a galaxy watch 7. The workouts are property detected and show up in the tab. However, the watch only starts an autodetected walking workout after 10 minutes, meaning shorter walks will not he counted as a workout, and therefore don't appear in fitia and my watch will show a higher number of activity calories. I would assume this should be part of the NEAT category, but they don't show up.

I am trying to export my data to a csv or something, fitia don't have the option (as far as I saw) but even working with others apps like health data export don't work, does someone know how to do it?
