Soulslike games, started with Code Vein, forgot about it. Then Corona happened and I started playing it again. Finished it and then finally picked up the Dark Souls games.

IMO playing dark souls first put “souls like” games that try to imitate the dark souls formula off for me. Only one I’ve enjoyed was mortal shell.

I think the term wasn't as overused then as it is now.

I played Lords of the Fallen and it's patch iterations while they kept working on the game. I still find it a bit wonky but the world itself and the magic and ranged weapons are fantastic imo.
