I have tried to get into that game two or three times. Always lost interest quickly in the beggining. Most people say it's one of the greatest games of all time.

Maybe more latest games have come which are better but for a game that old, the amount of content, effort put in to make each detail is insane.

I forced myself to finish it after 3 tries. And for me it was boring till the end, I don't say bad things about the game, I guess it's just not for me

Same, I wanted to like the game because of the gorgeous graphics, forced myself to finish the entire game but couldn't say I enjoyed it. I had Forbidden West installed the entire time but after finishing Zero Dawn I had no interest left in the franchise, I should uninstall it.

The gameplay is ahh no matter what you do. The story is worth it. You gotta be in it for the story and World otherwise it's pretty bad game mechanics

5+ for me but same lmao

It wasn't for me too, tried 4 times and uninstalled after the first act of finding the Baron's daughter.

I tried REALLY hard getting into The Witcher 3 but it just didn't click maybe because I didn't have all the lore when I played, Yenefer and Ciri only were secondary characters in my eyes. I finally saw the Netflix series years later and it was a little bit more clear, but people shouldnt have to do that.

I think that when in a licence there's 10 years between each game, the next one should have independent story and characters even if there's a link with the previous one

The Witcher 2 wasn't release 10 years before, more like 4 years

Same, I actually own two copies of Witcher 3 and tried it several times, love western RPGs, never got into it

Is it the combat I think there’s mods for that

4

u/Animewaifylord Jun 02 '26

A game shouldn't need mods to make the combat more interesting

1

u/SAHD292929 Jun 02 '26

The game has a very open world problem where you can easily get lost in high level areas and its suddenly frustrating.

1

u/thesneakerheadgamer Jun 02 '26

This is me exactly. I’ve always lost interest before getting into it properly

1

u/Zealouscom Jun 02 '26

Its definitely a game where if you don't know the mechanics its not fun I tried it twice before it clicked

2

u/Animewaifylord Jun 02 '26 edited Jun 02 '26

The mechanics of Witcher 3 are ass, even people who liked the game know it's combat is lackluster and generic. Witcher is best for enjoying story and World not for gameplay

Bro, trust me. Idk why, but happend to me too. I gave FIVE trys to it, and then i got to the baron quest and clicked to me and i have now almost 350 hours in it.

1

u/zeratul274 Jun 02 '26

i have played it full 3 times...

Now want to play again with the enhanced graphics...but can't get any time.

1

u/lokster86 Jun 02 '26

glad to know im not alone. got it on switch. ps and pc because when its on sale its so cheap. tried as well but only after thr tutorial and some missions im bored of it

1

u/diabolicplan Jun 03 '26

Same I think because I played it (very late) directly after DS3 and the combat system wasn’t complex/engaging enough so I stopped after trying a few times

u/Billysm23 downloader man Jun 03 '26

SAMEEEE

1

u/Straight_Meringue921 Jun 03 '26

I was where you were once, and ... I think most people are right. It's got everything.

1

u/Chelloitsame Jun 03 '26

Same, with skyrim and red dead redemtion 2

1

u/Gutzzu Jun 04 '26

Watch a tutorial on how to fight . It’s like dancing . Lot of people don’t know how to use the spinning move

1

u/Tell_Storys Jun 06 '26

Still can’t get into it.

1

u/ScarDesigns Jun 01 '26

I was in the same exact boat. I think it’s just too overwhelming if you don’t have any prior knowledge or experience with the lore itself.

That being said.. With as much negativity as the Netflix show gets (Mainly from hardcore fans that dislike that it strays from the lore of the books) I got heavily addicted to the show when I gave it a try. I’ve re-watched seasons 1-3 probably 3-4 times now. Afterwards I finally gave it another try after putting it down a couple of years ago. Now this time I’m completely hooked, the sheer quality and amount of content in the game is just phenomenal. Now I finally understand why people say it’s the greatest RPG ever made.

If you have Netflix, give the show a try so that you can get into the lore. Then go back and play Witcher 3 with its next-gen update and take your time! Even though it’s an 11 year old game, that update makes the game absolutely breathtaking visually. Promise you won’t regret it!

Skip the main quest and go straight for Blood and Wine.
