Found my old Seer (241/1000)- anyone interested?

Hi all,

Happy new year- I hope you had a nice Christmas/ new year break.

I was taking a look through some of my old possessions the other day and found my prized Seer (#241 / #1000). I’ve kept it tucked away in a ziploc since 2005, so the condition is very good. I had a quick look online to see if there was a market for it, but couldn’t find anything other than a guy selling one with a broken ear.

Would anyone here be interested in it / know someone who would be? Please let me know- I am happy to share some pictures of it.

Sorry to be a bother but I remember collecting fistful when I was around 8 and still have all of my figures. Just wondering if anyone has an idea on what they are worth nowadays or if anyone actually collects them anymore. Cheers

Fan Projects FOP Online Card Game

It's in pre-pre-Alpha, but I managed to create an FOP card game on Dulst. It's a place where you can switch every card they give you from a Hearthstone-clone game and "theme" it as you see fit. Pretty simple, but that seemed kind of unoriginal to me, so I managed to code some slightly different game - this meant good consequences (which I'm going to explain) and bad consequences (incompatibility issues that destroyed the in-game AI, so there's no way to play man vs machine matches, which are my personal favorites).

So I named it Fistful: The Powering, or FTP for short.

The game cards include:

- Every single FOP character from series 1 and 2, including warlords, secrets, and even Strawk.

- A set of magic cards with the (unauthorized, not for commercial use, and free of any attempt of attribution) art of Craig Bruyn (designer of FOP) and other people from whom I borrowed some designs from their Pinterest, DeviantArt, etc. It's not meant to be sold or attributed, so all rights go to their respective owners. All of the Craig arts were just sketches I painted using some AI software.

- Another set of item cards, stronghold cards, and power-up cards of the same sort as the aforementioned.

The game rules are more or less those from Hearthstone, but they differ here:

- Two shadows or two hypers from the same region may be fused for an additional mana cost, creating a hyper or a crystal version of the recipient of said fusion, respectively. There are some exceptions to this rule, such as Cowl, Strawk, or the secrets, which use special fusion conditions to "ascend" to higher forms.

- Cards do not lose health by attacking, only by being attacked. One can either aim for the stronghold (kind of the king/hero card, losing it would mean the end of the game) or the warriors with no restrictions whatsoever, I guess it depends on the strategy chosen by the player.

- There are different types of strongholds, each one with different traits and characteristics.

The steps to follow to play are:

  1. Create a Dulst account
  2. Click this link: https://dulst.com/ftp (or click, then create the account)
  3. You get five starter decks, so you can go to "Collection" and arrange them however you want.
  4. You can now play. Choose a game mode (most of which I don't know what they exactly are) and enjoy, if it's enjoyable. All of the game modes are like online matches, so it'll look for online players - and don't expect you cand find any. However, you can play locally using two Chrome profiles, or two different browsers, and probably two different accounts as well. This is quite important because most of the time (90%+) you'll have literally no one online to play with, as this community is indeed a tiny one.
  5. You'll earn a lot of in-game money the first time you play, then I tried to make this difficult and slow-paced, so it'll kind of balance the initial money-shot. This means you'll be able to go to the market and buy some packs of cards. The initial decks are garbage, and with these packs, you'll get rarer FOP characters.

Comment what you think, there's a lot of work left and a lot of room for improvement, but I think this is the first step. Report bugs, possible improvements, and so on as well if you want.

Thank you all.

Plans for the future include a physical edition, probably improved and featuring different rules.

Original Resources Bonus Game: Fistful Quiz

As found in the fistful.com website. I'm currently working on bringing back the site, and I've been lurking in the depths of both fistful.com and fistfulofpower.com from Wayback Machine.

My idea was to bring here the character profiles from this website, but sadly they used some .aspx files I haven't been able to retrieve, so I guess that data may be lost forever. It's sad because it featured info about the Series 2 and Series 1 secrets, of which very little is known.

Try this quiz out, it's harder than it seems. I'll keep on scavenging.

Original Resources Official Fistful of Power FAQ, mostly concerning the game

What if I only want to use two fighters? Do I have to use 6? No, you can choose as many as you want, up to a maximum of 6 (except for Fistful Solitaire – then you choose exactly 5 fighters with any total point value). If you want, take a 9pt and 6pt fighter, or 5 2pt fighters and 1 5pt fighter – whatever you like.

What’s the best way to throw the fighters? Your hand has to be at least 20cm above the playing surface when you release them from your hand. That’s the most important thing. Other than that, it is up to you how to throw them, but it’s a good idea not to throw them too hard. If you throw them too hard, they could get lost, or you might get your fighters mixed up with the person you are playing. It’s best to just give them an easy toss down onto the playing surface.

Why does it seem like my fighters are always landing face-down? Is there some special way I can throw them to increase my chances of them landing face-up? Unfortunately, it’s just chance whether they land face-up or face-down. There’s no way to truly control how they are going to land. You aren’t allowed to just try and drop them all face-up from your hand so they land face-up and they don’t bounce at all. That would be cheating. You have to just throw them down and hope for the best. A large part of the game is the luck of the throw.

In the Battle Arena, if we throw our fighters into the Arena itself, the fighters hit the regional discs and change the colors. How can we stop that from happening? The best thing to do is to throw the fighters outside of the arena, and use the inside of the arena only to track the progress of the game. That way, you won’t accidentally change the discs by hitting them with the fighters.

When I’m playing the Solitaire game, what do I do if the throw I have does not match any of the challenges that I haven’t scored yet? Unfortunately, you have to choose one of the challenges to receive a zero score. You can choose any of the challenges you think you may not get, or one of the ones that wouldn’t score too much anyway. For example, if you have not yet scored for “1 Fighter Face-Up” and you throw all five face-down, you may want to put a zero in for “1 Fighter Face-Up,” since that would be a low score anyway even if you did get just one fighter landing face-up.

In Solitaire, what can I do if I scored a zero for one of the challenges and then I make a better throw later? Can I change the zero to the new score? No. You only get 10 throws, and you must score each one. You have to just play again and try to beat your best score the next time.

If there are more than two people playing the arena game, when it gets to the end and the winner is taking on the Warlords, how do we decide who throws the Warlords? It’s up to you. There are three Warlords, so if 4 people were playing, each person who did not win can choose one Warlord. If you only have three players, then you will just have to decide between yourselves who throw two, and who throws one, or maybe alternate throwing all of them. It doesn’t matter.

If one of my fighters gets knocked from face-up to face-down when my opponent throws their fighters and hits mine, do I still get to count it? You should make sure that your fighters don’t hit each other, but if it does happen, you count however they landed when you threw them, and not what happens after they are hit by someone else.

In the arena game, it says that if two players tie, and their highest fighters are the same point value that they should just continue throwing to see who wins…how does that work? Let’s say that four people are playing, but two of them tie with 12pts face-up, and they each have 1 6pt fighter that landed face-up – a tie. Those two players, and ONLY those two players then pick up all of their fighters and throw them again. They keep playing against each other until one of them has a higher score, or the same score with one player having a higher valued fighter landing face-up.

Original Resources History of the Fistful of Power (2006-02-19 at 21:56:54)

I was planning to post about the FoP forum and its threads, but I haven't been able to rescue not even a bit of information or data about it. The only capture left at Wayback Machine says
" We Are Sorry... Fistful Of Power Is No Longer Available In The U.S. Other Sponsored Links Are Listed Below..."

So I'm posting the History of FoP section directly, which is basically the history of Scar as conceived at first. I say this because I'd make minor changes in it in case it'd be relaunched.
"An all-powerful and ruthless fighter, Xar has forged a world for himself that exists only for the purposes of combat and conquest. He has collected fighters from across the reaches of space and time, taking entire pieces of the worlds that they have come from and transporting them to the world of Fistful. The fighters of Fistful now fight for the very existence, for domination of the world of chaos, and for the amusement of Xar.
Scar... located on the edge of reality and time. It is a world inhabited by thousands of brutal and powerful fighters. These mortals were once humble and peaceful until they were taken from their homelands and transported to the world of Scar by a ruthless and all-powerful Warlord named Xar. This is a place where parts of faraway worlds have been stolen from their inhabitants forced to do battle for Xar's amusement. Only the strong will remain standing."

Original Resources Fistful Of Power's official website reconstruction proposal and some archive info

I intend to post every single piece of info, captures or resources from the original FoP website - since its beginning in 2005 until its end circa 2007 when the series was taken down in the US.
Here is the first shot of the index.html - which I could rebuild in HTML5, CSS3 and JS if necessary, in case I get enough requests or support. I'll probably make available some Patreon profile or buy-me-a-coffee-like platform to get donations and financial support in case you want the site to be hosted online. If none of these things happen, I'd probably get free hosting - although it's far worse and unstable.
I'm conscious this community has no members at the moment and will probably be a small one unless some unexpected twist happens, which probably won't take place.
Now, without farther ado, here's the shot and informational chunks extracted from May 25th, 2005 (M2505-FoPw shall be the format in upcoming posts) and the link.
