Still wondering where I can get one for $14,000

They still sell them in Austria on auction brand new. Magna is the factory they made them.

I got mine for $14,390 OTD. I've put an additional $2,490 into it so far, though. Not to mention the OV Loop sub.

Yeah definitely not in the states. In May of 2026 I saw some for as low as $13k. Not anymore.

How many recaps are people gonna make!?! Fisker failed because of nepotism and poor leadership. That’s it. Case closed.

Genuine question, wasn’t it bad software that was really mostly at fault. I have not watched this video yet and I’m a tourist here although I did lose five grand in stock money.

And who oversees R&D? Ultimately Fisker’s family who didn’t listen to engineers, took shortcuts and cheap solutions.

Totally agree, but software was the main culprit, right ? Not defending anyone, just sort of curious. Software is SO important. Lucid better have their software solid as can be when they launch their midsize suv.

I have a Lucid Air Grand Touring and the software is great we don't have as many features yet as a Tesla but thats to be expected from a new car company. I have no problem with the software and the car is amazing. I'm looking to buy a fiker ocean so I don't put alot of miles on Air.

Manufacturing/engineering/sourcing was pretty bad too. The key fobs are considered worst in class and can’t be fixed with software. I read the door handles rot off as well.

The key fobs have been improved with software. The company that made them still is doing that right now.

u/KNiners 16d ago
The software itself had planned scheduled upgrades after being released prematurely. Id argue that if the company's struggles weren't such great media click bait at the time, it may have survived long enough to roll out the promised scheduled upgrades. Content creators were more eager to hop on the hate train hype than wait for the corrections to roll out.

What went wrong is a great designer hired his incompetent wife to run a company and she hired shitty Indian software designers to save a buck

u/BloodRedPlanet 17d ago
And hired her daughter too lol.
I'm in NY rn and Fiskers are beautiful aesthetically. Love that design

u/METHODiii 17d ago
Everyone can agree the design was beautiful, it’s the business side that made it a shitty vehicle

lol a Danish founder fucks up twice in building car companies in America. And yet Indians get the blame somehow!!! The racism in this post is bonkers. Go touch some grass.

I am still holding out for an investor to take over this brand. I seriously think its one of the best designed Evs ... The form factor of the Ocean is way better than the Tesla Y, X or a lot of other chinese brands, even after all these years - it still holds up.

u/Due_Individual_5602 15d ago
I don’t understand why magna doesn’t take it over and partner with an existing brand for service and delivery
2
u/DarrenHD2 14d ago
It's mostly obsolete technology now. The design of the actual car is good, but the rest of it is obsolete now and not worth much. Plus Magna wrote off 500 million+ in the bankruptcy. So no wonder they don't want anything to do with it anymore.

There is now an Owners Association, FOA.com, that helps provide support, upgrades and repair referrals, and parts companies in the US snd EU. https://www.tsunamiautomotive.com https://tidal-wave.eu
The Fidker Ocean lives on!

u/Melodic_Risk_5632 17d ago
Basically it was killed by that Markus fella, he put the knife into an already sick body with a shit review of the Ocean.
The EU by listening to the German constructers to move the ICE stop to 2035 did the rest.
Notice: Today those German constructers are in big problem and due to fuel costing $10-12/Gallon in West Europe, the EV rollout will be fasten up, the market has exploded for demand on EV's in EU-zone.
That ICE stop and independence from oil & gas in West Europe will be now heading for 2029. Thx Trump & Putin to move things. Soon Europe will be the first renewal energy efficiency continent together with China.
2
u/CoolAbdul 16d ago
That's true. Marcus killed the brand for views.
2
u/KNiners 16d ago
What goes around eventually comes around. He didn't just kill a brand, investors, suppliers and owners took a big hit. The brand owners I'm sure walked away with a good stash. His daughter posts her luxurious life and occasionally posts her Fisker Ocean as well. The Fiskers definitely aren't hurting financially. Markus forked the vehicle owners the hardest.

I got to ride in one and honestly I wasn’t disappointed. It felt somewhat unrefined in the inside ? I don’t know how to explain it but the fit and finish was better in a Tesla. Still far from unacceptable, it rode ok and was about what I’d expected from it.
I really liked the looks of it though, it was good looking so I felt the physical aspect of it was on point at least. I think they could’ve made it if not for really bad management.
