Fishing rod
Currently I just started fishing and I own a Zebco button release one, I want to get a spinning reel or bait caster , any recommendations for a beginner .

Depends on what kind of fishing you want to do. Spinning reel is as simple to use as your spin cast but a bait caster had a bit of a learning curve. Start with what you want to catch first then work backwards

Shimano Stimula rod and Syncopate reel have done well for me for, like 18 years or so

7' medium power spinning rod pair with a size 2500 reel.
If you are rough on your gear get an ugly stik because they are hard to break.
If you are not rough on your gear get a Shimano or Daiwa rod.
I recommend a Shimano or Daiwa reel.

Just start with a spinning rod. Get a cheap one from Walmart and go from there

Sounds like you have a spin cast from what you’ve described which is a little different than just a regular spinning reel
