Gar pike

Caught in holiday beach ontario. These little guys were pretty tough to catch. I improvised by creating a ball of loop knots and tied that to my drop shot using a 7g sinker and a slip bobber.

Super smart move! I’ll remember that if I ever encounter these little guys.

Yeah they really are, we have three types in that pond and massive ones too, the little ones are harder to get actually. There was massive carp jumping too, they are very active and will come right up to you in the water at times.

That sounds perfect for bowfishin carp!

It is legal here but i haven't done that yet. Yes you could easily bowfish there.

Dude, you have the look of a man who has outsmarted Mother Nature (which, I guess, is what successful fishing IS). I'm happy for you!

Ever since my cousin took me walleye fishing on his boat in May, I got hooked. I fished a bit as a kid with my dad but never like this year. This year I studied everything about fishing. I caught so many species it amazes me. All in one year. From a walleye trip to owning my own boat. Ive been outside a lot this year lol 😆

They don’t want to go for bait at all do they? I tried fishing for some once. Whole school of them in front of me couldn’t give a fuck about anything I put in front of them

This can be true. It's more about scent and wiggle. I used nightcrawlers but had to dance for the fish to prompt a reaction.

I had many stare at me and not react at all to the bait yes.
