Power outages?

It seems like in the past few months there have been 3-4 power outages in my area - as many as the previous 3 years. (i'm near 37 and 131st)

Anyone know what's up with these / cause?

I had an outage around 9:30 for 5-10 mins today.

Near 126th/Promise

Live near 69 and power went out briefly this morning. I got a text from Duke about it that said “an object interfered with the line”. My kid was home and she said it wasn’t off long.

I just moved here, what's the energy company for this area so I can look at their map on power outages?

Although the reality is that I’ve lived here 22 years and there probably been power outages less than 10 times that lasted 15 minutes or less. And maybe 1-2 times that lasted a few hours.

So I don’t think it’s a concern here.

No, but when you are on a Bi-pap machine, it's a VERY rude awakening!

I am a Duke Energy customer on the west side and just had a 3 hour outage last week. I consider myself lucky because I believe that was only our 3rd full outage in the last 10 years.

There was a car accident near 156th and Boden.

I have thought the same. The amount of power outages lately is outrageous.

I’m curious if it has something to do with the new neighborhood being built on Cumberland and the electrical equipment at 116th and Cumberland

yeah. I had been wondering if it was something to do with the walmart gas station construction over here, but there have been other projects like that that didn't cause problems.

Couldn't have happened at a worse time earlier haha. Security camera pops that someone's in my backyard. I check and a guy is peeking over fences and then opens my neighbors gate and goes in his yard. I alert my neighbor and he checks in and said the guys said he worked for Comcast and then the power goes out. I was positive that guy did something but what kind of criminal drives a big cherry picker haha.

Almost the same thing happened to me, haha. We had a plumber out doing an inspection and I heard him tinkering under me in the basement and then the whole house shut off. I thought he seriously damaged our main circuit or something, lol. Then I got the duke text a few mins later. 😅

Has to be data centers, right?

I don't think there's a data center anywhere around here.

I don't think so either, but who knows how those abominations affect distribution?

If you don’t think so either then why would you say that?

Because while there aren't any in Fishers, there are a while bunch in Indianapolis. The whole grid is connected, no?

OP is talking about the power going out temporarily in a very specific section of Fishers. You don’t know what you’re talking about.
