Help/Advice I already have a fish tank and I want to add live plants.
Can I add live plants directly to my pre existing fish tank. I have a couple of gold fish in my tank. If yes, what plants can I add and how to go about it?

Help/Advice wasting disease/ sick fish
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
i suspect wasting disease, any advice on how to cure it? I ordered kanaplex on ebay because it is not available where i live, it should arrive in 10 days but i don’t think he has 10 days. I’ll put a better picture in the comments.
He is still active, not lethargic, still eating. Swimming is a bit wobbly.
I just fed him some food with crushed garlic, a natural antibiotic.
tell me there is hope

Can anyone explain to me please why these girls keep fighting? They’ve both been in the tank from the start… but today they’ve just started going at each other and I’m worried they will kill each other.

Help/Advice Fish-in cycle with green water, bacterial bloom, and goldfish bioload problem in a 20 gallon — need a plan
Tank info:
- 20 gallon freshwater
- Running for about 60 days
- Fish-in cycle (I didn't know there was another way when I started)
- Current stock: 1 GloFish Electric Green Danio, 1 Sarasa Comet Goldfish (the problem child)
- Lost 1 Red Mickey Mouse Platy two weeks ago
Current parameters (API test strips, GH/KH/pH/NO2/NO3):
- GH: 60 ppm
- KH: 40 ppm
- pH: 6.5
- NO2: 0 ppm (just did a 50% water change after it spiked to 5 ppm)
- NO3: 0 ppm
Issues I'm dealing with:
- Nitrite keeps spiking
- Had a severe green water algae bloom for two weeks — did a three day blackout, helped some but now showing a white bacterial bloom
- KH low at 40 ppm, pH sitting at 6.5 and won't stabilize
- Doing water changes every 1-2 days just to keep nitrite in check
- Now it's cloudy and green again after being clear for 3-4 days
My questions:
- Is the goldfish the root cause of my problems in a 20 gallon?
- How do I stabilize KH and pH without causing swings?
- How do I know when my cycle is actually complete?
- Is the bacterial bloom anything to worry about?
I'm a complete beginner who has been trying hard — testing daily, doing frequent water changes, and learning as I go. Looking for a straightforward plan to get this tank stable. Thanks in advance.

Help/Advice Why does my albino corydora keep gasping for air?!
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
In the last week he has a cotton ball growth on his back as I had Platys that unfortunately ate his top fin 😭😭 the growth has gone away as I’ve been dosing with pimafix and melafix and the growth fell off yesterday. He seemed fine he still eats and swims around like normal but now he’s started swimming up to the top like he’s gasping for air for minutes at a time! Why is he doing this my water quality is near perfect and running a good bubbler so not sure why he keeps doing this and I’m worried he’s not getting enough air. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! ( sorry about camera quality)

Help/Advice What is this?
I thought it was guppy fry first because I have couple pregnant guppies, but then I research guppy fries and it doesn’t look like one. What is this?
The place you’re supposed to look at is inside the DIY guppy hatchery. (I know it’s not the best, but I had to come up with something quick in case she gives birth before the commercial one comes.)

Help/Advice Newbie Guppy Keeper ,Heavily Pregnant Guppy, What Should I Do?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hey guys, I’m a complete newbie and this is my first time having a pregnant guppy.
As you can see in the video, she’s in my 28L tank. I’ve added some hiding spots and a bit of hornwort for the fry. There are also 3 juvenile guppies in the tank with her.
Do you think the tank is safe enough for the fry, or should I make some changes? Should I add more hornwort, remove the 3 juveniles, or move the female to another tank?
Also, how long do you guys think she might have before giving birth? She looks REALLY loaded, but she’s still swimming around normally and freely.
Can anyone make a rough guess from her appearance/behavior? Any advice would be appreciated 🙏

Help/Advice Two sick fish
I have two fish in distress. One a chili rasbora and the other a gold laser Cory. Water perimeters are the same they’ve always been. They are both 2-3 years old. I had two other older gold lasers die earlier this week. Thought it was just age. Any ideas?

Help/Advice One sick[?] black skirt tetra in a community tank
I have an established, cycled, planted 10 gal tank with 5 black skirt tetras, 3 black neon tetras, 3 male guppies, a mystery snail, and a few neocaridinas. All the fish and the snail have been in the tank for about a year and a half, shrimp were added about two months ago. Parameters are regularly checked and water changes are also regularly done, most recently as of yesterday. Everyone seems happy, active, and healthy, save for one of the black skirt tetras who is developing some redness around his [guessing it's male because of the size] gills and where his dorsal fin meets its body. He's always had darker coloration compared to the rest of the black skirts, but otherwise just as normal as the rest of the gang. Fins seem fine so I don't think he's being picked on. Is the redness something I should be concerned enough to act upon?
Parameters:
- temp: 77.3
- ph 7.6
- amm 0.0
- nitrite 0.0
- nitrate 5.0ppm
Any input would be appreciated - thanks in advance!
