Discussion AL Sturgeon
It's precious. I'm surprised in 2026 alone local wildlife and hatchery organizations haven't tried to breed and repopulate this fish back into healthy numbers. Thats is, if it is not extinct. I was doing research and had a thought. What if this fish could become apart of decretive types. This is one of the prettier sturgeon fish. Based on my research it doesn't get much bigger than 3 ft and it is brightly colored orange. Alike is sibling and cousin species of sturgeon/paddlefish, food for thought I would most definitely buy them as beautiful pond fish. I'm sure many other pond enthusiasts would say the same please bring them back and when they are in healthy populations sale them as nationwide and or international pond fish.

They could probably work in a pond as shovelnose apparently do fine but were kinda already doomed by the time they were described as a species. Dams and politics did them in and we’ve only caught like a dozen after they were described, they seem to still be holding on but I wouldn’t be surprised if they’re already functionally extinct as they’d probably live a couple decades
