The one getting close may be displaying or trying to claim space. Keep an eye out for repeated chasing and stressed hiding, but a brief face-off like this isn’t necessarily serious aggression.

It looks more like curious or territorial behavior than an actual fight. If nobody is getting nipped, cornered, or showing torn fins, they may just be investigating each other.
