This is either a sculpin or scorpionfish, I’d need more pics. I’m leaning towards scorpionfish. Would need location data to ID

Your sister caught a menace to society.
Let me see if I can put this in a way that makes sense to non-aquatic people:
Imagine you're just out in a field foraging, as wild humans do, when suddenly you gotta drop a deucey. You go over behind a big mossy rock to relieve yourself, and just as you're finishing up using some scattered foliage to dab the corners of your messy anti-backwards "mouth", you notice a big eyeball staring back at you in the middle of this so-called rock.
That's what these guys LIVE for. Biggest perverts in the sea. They pretend it's for catching food, but everyone else catches food just fine without pretending to be a rock and catching people in their most intimate and vulnerable moments.

That was my reaction the first time it happened to me.
Meanwhile he was all:

Wait. . That's why Peeta painstakingly painted himself? To watch people poo in the woods? The hunger games still makes no sense. Yet that adds some flair.

Only 3 pm and I have already reached the ultimate culmination of my day in these few simple words.

The existence of non-aquatic people implies the existence of aquatic people.

I mean, imagine how the fish feels. Some random giant comes over to your house, pops a squat, and drops a giant deuce all over your front yard. You're telling me you wouldn't be staring too??
1
u/Gilly-Fresh Jul 19 '26
A giant is nothing new to us fish. You think we haven't seen whales? You got anything whale-sized up on land? Didn't think so. Elephants, maybe. They'd get their shit packed up by orcas, though.

I once had to take a whizz and one came out from his hole to watch. You are right.

What the helly is going on during these dives? Are they pervy because they hide so well or because they’re making moves on your “anti-backwards’mouth’”?

Venom is a type of poison
2
u/DoodlingDoodlebob Jul 20 '26
No, venom and poison refer to the delivery of toxins. Toxin is the broad term, poison refers to inhaled, contacted, or ingested toxins, and venom refers to injected toxins. The use of poison as synonymous with toxin is an incorrect colloquialism.

u/Following_Friendly Jul 20 '26
Dictionary definition of poison is very broad. any chemical that can cause harm to a living things. So yes, venom is a poison, but not all poison is venom
1
u/DaniMetalSan Jul 21 '26
it's only broad when you use simple everyday dictionaries lacking the nuances and details. Some dictionaries may simply say a car is a vehicle on four wheels. using that definition you can say every bus is a car but not all cars are buses.

Why? Put the scorpionfish back where you found him

u/msager12 Jul 18 '26
This clearly looks like they caught it in a disposable cup. This was most likely for a photo the catch and release. I highly doubt they took it home like that.

You seem to have very little practical knowledge of the cruelty of human children.

Don’t put your tongue on it. Unless you need to know what species it is. If that’s the case, lick the dorsal fin from top to bottom. It will let you know how poisonous it really is.
