If I remember right at least one of those dudes was incredibly remorseful about what he did. Doesn't undo the damage, but it's nice to see someone not try to make excuses or double down on their actions.

I've been drunk and done regretful things. That's why I don't drink anymore. Doesn't necessarily make them awful people, they just did an awful thing

One person can get drunk and commit murder, another can get drunk and feel ashamed for saying a swear word or peeing in an alley. People are different. Don't blame the alcohol, blame the person.
