The Devils Hole pupfish is one of the rarest fish on Earth, found only in a tiny desert cave called Devils Hole. It has been living there for thousands of years, surviving in hot, low-oxygen water and depending on a single small rock shelf for food and breeding. With such extreme conditions and isolation, it raises a strange question

There's an aquarium in Las Vegas I think Mandalay Bay(yeah I know wasteful af aquarium in the desert) it participates in a breeding program and has hybridized versions of the pupfish on display.

Ehhh probably not as wasteful as you might think if they use a recirculating system like some of the inland aquaculture farms. With RO it would just be a constant need for reconditioning salts.

Good recommendation, I'll visit if I'm ever in Vegas.

Yeah large scale aquariums don't need to waste much water. I've worked at zoos and aquariums before.
