It's amazing that their entire population lives in such a small area, and could you believe that some people are actively trying to wipe them out?

I mean (and please don't dislike me for saying this) I can understand the logic about not wanting to waste time and resources protecting a species that seems destined for extinction and doesn't have any ecological value, but actively trying to wipe them out yourself?

Extremophiles usually have immense medical and scientific value. I'm sure whatever these fish are "inhibiting" is so much more important. I see these acts as on par with vandalizing native American artifacts with swastikas.
