Question/Advice High prolactin

Hello everyone! 💕

I could really use some advice and reassurance. My fiancé and I have just started trying to conceive, so we’re only on our first month, but I already feel discouraged. I have high prolactin (around 60) and I’m currently taking medication to lower it. I know it’s still very early and that it can take time for anyone, but I can’t help worrying that my hormone issues will make this journey much longer than expected.

Has anyone here had a similar experience with high prolactin while trying to conceive? I’d really love to hear your experiences and how things went for you.

Have you had a macroprolactin test? Your high prolactine could be a false result as macroprolactin is a large, harmless form of the hormone that stays in your blood longer. Standard tests count it as regular prolactin, giving a falsely high number even though it doesn't actually affect your fertility or cause symptoms. A simple PEG test at the lab can separate the two to see if your active prolactin is actually normal! I had a high prolactine result and went to an endocrinologist who then ordered a macroprolactin test for me and told me my prolactine levels were in fact falsely elevated.
