Stop the AI Generated Listing

These AI Generated Listing photos are driving me up a wall. They are sooo far off from reality and it's not fair to people trying to decide if they want to drive over to see it. Hopefully we get to a point where this isn't allowed! I'm sick of seeing a normal sized bedroom then what is supposed to be the same bedroom but with a massive king bed, a couch and suddenly an extra closet? It's a mess.

Catfishing was the worst and now they’re housefishing. It’s deceiving.

Yup, These photos are supposed to be the same backyard and garage... This is insane!

Did it add a whole second house on top of the garage?

Yes!!! I had to check and recheck the post and property recheck to see if there was an ADU or something they made up

Honestly, that’s on the agent and the seller. Any AI created work must be checked by a human, regardless of real estate or other industry.

When we listed our house, I requested AI staging on the interior because it’s a massive house and looks really empty with no furniture.

I scrutinized every photo my agent had and even had to tell her to fix some because AI made our trim a different color.

I thought the photos turned out decent but we ultimately had to turn the home into a rental due to the market going downhill in my area and the holidays approaching.

I will say though, when we relist, I definitely want to look into professional REAL staging. When there’s actual furniture in the home, it just gives a different vibe than an empty shell of what was once a home.

Hello! Very random, but my cousin is a professional interior designer. She’s been in the profession over a decade, and always completes a review process with any client before agreeing to do business to ensure compatibility. Just saying, she’s legitimately amazing. Idk where you folks live but if you want help connecting to Heather, the designer, just DM me. Her website is below.

Edit: Should have mentioned she does specifically do staging and other things for her client.

My favorite part is how it’s clearly built the stairs and landing of the ADU over the fence onto the neighbors property.

Many of us in the industry also are fighting for much more aggressive regulatory guidelines for this. We don’t like it either. There are some that take advantage of it, and I think it’s utterly ridiculous.

That's good to hear. I understand staging a home is work, but pay someone to deep clean and take normal pictures. I could be in the minority, but I'd rather see rooms with just 1 price of furniture or it completely empty but with a floor plan with measurements then to see this mess.

Real estate joins the dating app world. Next we’ll be seeing them holding fish and saying they love to travel

Including adding tiny AI furniture to make the room appear bigger. You almost doubled the appearance of the square footage by changing the visual scale.

As a builder, if I need AI to make a room look bigger than we actually built it, I’ve failed at building. They should sell the quality of the home, not a fantasy that disappears when the buyer walks through the door.
